It may be funny to say "yay, no school!" but what happens after? you have hundreds of kids misplaced, records eliminated, other schools overcrowded, teachers losing jobs, tax increases.... Its an awful situation! When your growing up, you may hate school but its familiar and where you spend alot of time growing and socializing. If this happened to me growing up, I would have been devastated. These kids had to be separated from friends and pushed into new schools.

@peach0618 Agreed. I went to WMS, though I transfered to a different school before it burned down, but I was DEVASTATED. I felt SO horrible for all those kids who left stuff in their lockers, teachers losing their personal stuff, and everyone having to be split up. And a lot of kids are saying, "NO SCHOOL! YAY!" What about in the long run? What about when you have to leave all your friends? So to others, please be quiet. I bet you would feel the same way as WMS if it happened to YOU!! Thanks(:

hi i maria anyway this really sucks i have to go to geneva and this one day wwhen we were walking to lunch i heard these little kids say "I DONT WANT BIG KIDS OR 6TH GRADERS TO COME TO OUR SCHOOL" it was sad and the part that makes me angry is that ITS AN ELEMENTRY SCHOOL

I really hope the school is rebuilt, I mean it's like a local monument! I was an 8th grader there for it's 100th year, and I loved the experience, and for all you who don't want the 8th graders at BHS or anywhere, seriously shame on you! way to support education, I'm sure you people just want to sleep in or whatever, but think about a "good" education. I greet all 8th graders if they'll come to our wonderful school of BHS, I just have a request to respect the school as we do.

omg my heart goes out to all the students and teachers. i went to kulshan but this is sooo horriable. a weird thing is that last night my parents and i were listening to our police scanner and at 7:00 and a girl said that the fire alarm was going off at whatcom. and then a couple of minutes later she siad it was a false alarm. WEIRD

I remember going there years ago and thinking it was the worst place on Earth. Part of me feels like justice has been done. The other part feels really sorry for the faculty there. Even the bitchiest of staff members never deserved this. What's going to become of them when they hear the news and don't have a place to teach anymore?
