You play this so brilliantly. I think it's kinda hard to play a 4-hand-piece because you have to pay attention to the other one, whether he/she makes any mistakes and the way I understand the information you two met the first time that day!!! But it sounds so great it seems to be no problem for you!!! You are so talented!!! You're a great pianist!!!! *****
I really appreciate your compliments and your understanding of some of the concerns that 4 hand pieces can have. Although I never met Mr Stanislavsky until a few hours before the concert program I did know that we would be playing this piece as an encore piece. So, it wasn't a surprise, it was just a new experience.
Playing a 4 hand piece was fun and different; it was a nice change. But, I still prefer playing solo overall. My partner in the piece is about 27 years old and has been prizewinner in several important international piano competitions. He has also played in many venues around the world in solo and concerto performances. His build is slight so I guess he looks a lot younger than he is!
@NavinJohnson90 Mr Stanislavsky suggested this piece as an encore piece several months before the event so it wasn't that spontaneous. But, we never met each other until a few hours before the concert, so that's when we spent some time practicing it.
How lovely!
This is now on my "favorites" list.
I'm looking forward to hearing/seeing more from you,

Just curious: How big are your hands? I mean, can you reach a C and its 11th, for example?
jakebrum95 1 year ago
I can reach an eleventh, but it is somewhat difficult; I can, however, reach a tenth fairly comfortably.

Congrats. Who won the competition, btw? Were there competitors who were younger than you?
Cheers

Dear jakebrum95,
I'm glad you enjoyed it! This actually was just a performance that me and Mr. Stanislavsky gave.

since it is your first public performance of a 4-hand piece, CONGRATULATIONS!
it looked so natural and effortless that i thought you had done duets before...! so i'm sure this is the first of many more! :)
how did it feel like, compared to being a solo pianist?
are you both 14yo?
also many thanks for introducing this piece which i never heard previously!

Very cool! So, what, you guys just decided backstage this would be your encore and played through it once?
