I think CNN, which started out as a good news channel, saw all the money FOX fake news was making so they decided to jump on the band wagon to prop up their profits but now FOX fake news is losing money so they switched at the wrong time now it just makes them look unprofessional chasing money/ratings.
Politics is all about creating good societies. What is wrong with a state-of-the-art public health care system that ensure that you can have heart surgery or cancer surgery or whatever for FREE? Is a society that does not redistrubute wealth in some way a warm society? Is it a caring society? Of course the filthy rich can and should contribute more to society than a cleaning lady. Keep in mind that all filthy rich people have become rich due to the labor of the workers that they have employed.
Joe Biden is a smart man. I think I would have responded in the same way. I am Norwegian and live in "socialist Europe" as some republicans would say. I have to laugh every time I hear the republicans bring up this subject. And McCain blamed Obama for talking about distribution of wealth like it was some plague or something. Why is Norway and other Scandinavian countries always voted "best in the world" in terms of standard of living, per capita income etc.? It is worth investingating.
It's pretty easy to understand since Obama constantly says it over and over. It's funny how the Dems think they're above being questioned on any of their own statements.
The Democratic ticket has answered all questions during this campaign. The Republicans are the ones not answering questions. Remember Palins "I may not going to answer the questions the way you or the Moderators wants" that was laughable :) why even show up to the debate then?
she obviously doesnt know the quote... its obvious she doesnt even know the difference between communism and socialism... and its just pseudo neo-mccarthyist rhetoric that shes vommiting all over her own air time
how embarrassing for that network to have those so-called journalists.. those are the dumbest questions i've heard this whole campaign. it just proves the republicans are desperate for answers, because they have none. So they resort to fearmongering, soundbite reporting.. "OH no! the commies are coming!" ..yeah. I'm shaking in my boots... GET REAL WFTV.
I don't understand why some folks call it "a ridiculous comparison". Obama's own words were "Spreading the wealth around". What else would you call that if not Marxism? Socialism? Now I'm far from bring rich, but Obama's plans and beliefs are just down right stupid, and it's pretty shocking to me how many people can just dismiss the stupidity just because they think it's "cool" to vote for Obama. Oh well... So much for free thinking.
"Spreading the wealth around" is such a vague statement that it can fit pretty much anything including socialism, communism, libertarianism or old school capitalism.
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. (...) The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. (...) It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."
Yes I do feel like punching her in the face. As a journalist, it is her responsibility to report the news fairly with no political affiliation. When you cease to do that you cease being a journalist and are now a pundit. Now obviously some news networks tend to lean one way or the other, and I don't blame them. MSNBC and FOX are are the opposite ends of the spectrum, but what she has presented is flat out irresponsible.
What an idiotic question - don't those morons understand that taxation is elementally in of itself a function of spreading the wealth? Okay, dummies - no taxes, no government. If you want no government, you need no services. Enjoy the squirrel soup!! Joe, we hardly knew ye...but now that we do..you're freakin' awesome!! OBAMA'08
Biden's right on - the question's basic premise is absurd - "a ridiculous comparison" between Marxism and revising the IRC to cut the middle class some slack. Whoever posed that question needs to buff up on her interviewing skills or her resume. What, she thought he was going to be knocked off balance and say something damning by THAT!?!? Arrrght, I'll be so glad when this election is over and people like her can go back to chasing ambulances and clucking over tragedies. Talking heads - yech.
i fuckin LOVE joe biden. he doesnt take shit from these dumbasses, ever.

You've heard Obama quote Marx over and over again? That's funny. Can I know when?
I'm not a "Dem". I'm far too much at their left.

Surely you don't live under a rock, so I'm going to assume your question is just a sarcastic one.

What is government control of the banks if not socialism?
I think it's pretty shocking that people wouldn't vote for Obama just because of one rhetorically twisted sound bite.

What was reasonable for Adam Smith, the grandaddy of capitalism, sounds like hardcore communism and stupidity for the Republicans of today.

But it was CNN, so now what?
bigdaddyshane 3 years ago
That was absolutely not CNN.
CNN was reporting on the story about the interview on its show Anderson Cooper 360, which is why you see the CNN logo in the lower left hand corner.
