what are you talking about? This game is supposed to be insanely over the top. This game's combat is amazing and a step above DMC's in every sense. Your rewarded both for crazy combo's strung together well, and timing with the fantastic dodge mechanic that no other game has, as well as witch time if dodging is utilized well.

it's very much a japanese game in the sense. I get that it isn't for everyone. I get that it wasn't targeted towards a western audience. But, for those that pick it up and are able to live with the over the top feel of the game, the fact that it's very jpop in the music, it's a game thats very rewarding for what your able to do combat wise. It's just a shame this game won't get much recognition because it just does so much right with combat that other games could only dream of getting away with

did you even look into the game? They purposely did all that, Bayonetta pays homage to so many games it's fantastic for those capable of picking them out.
Story, sure, i agree, it's nonsensicle. But the gameplay is so fast paced, and the fact that they were able to give you the amount of control in combat that they did, is very impressive.
Forget DMC5. Hideki Kamiya has always done well with new and fresh ideas/projects, i'd rather see him come up with an entirely new game again.

they give you more control in Bayonetta because it allows the player to have more freedom as to what their able to do combat wise. It allows you to pull off shit that you could only DREAM of doing in other games. If you even tried to play this game, getting past all the nonsensicle shit, all the jpop influence, you'll clearly see, this game is an evolutionary step for the combat genre.
Yes, Bayonetta pays homage to many games. Sonic, Okami, DMC, as well as other games are tributed in the game.

you think dante made up the phrase "let's dance" oh boy, that's probably one of the most over used phrases before a fight in general, movies and games alike, and that "boss fight" at 1:35 is not really a boss fight at all. that's pretty much it right there, extend that for 45 more seconds and it's a short battle. It makes sense the holy guys all resemble statues..the only thing the same about this game is she uses guns.

Which doesn't mean shit all to someone who hates that kind of game, but the game is doing far from terrible, usually hyped games get crappy reviews, i often see a hyped game get good reviews..and if it does then it did its job.

as i am going to school to make games im just starting to see the repetivness in the industry and that nobody is activly searching for anything thats new, it makes money as is so they dont care. the only people that care about evolving the industry at all are the developers who put all the work into it, and sadly they get overlooked by the marketing team and marketing often-times builds a pre-set formula for the game before its even started, to sell it, not to make somthing new and exciting

I used to work for game companies, and from the outside they are all happy and smiling how they want to deliver the best product for their customers...on the inside i've litterally heard each place say "ehh ship it thats a minor issue..or ehh lets just reuse this"

what are you talking about? This game is supposed to be insanely over the top. This game's combat is amazing and a step above DMC's in every sense. Your rewarded both for crazy combo's strung together well, and timing with the fantastic dodge mechanic that no other game has, as well as witch time if dodging is utilized well.

it's very much a japanese game in the sense. I get that it isn't for everyone. I get that it wasn't targeted towards a western audience. But, for those that pick it up and are able to live with the over the top feel of the game, the fact that it's very jpop in the music, it's a game thats very rewarding for what your able to do combat wise. It's just a shame this game won't get much recognition because it just does so much right with combat that other games could only dream of getting away with

and 1:35 looks exactly the same as the last boss fight (neros) in dmc 4

did you even look into the game? They purposely did all that, Bayonetta pays homage to so many games it's fantastic for those capable of picking them out.
Story, sure, i agree, it's nonsensicle. But the gameplay is so fast paced, and the fact that they were able to give you the amount of control in combat that they did, is very impressive.
Forget DMC5. Hideki Kamiya has always done well with new and fresh ideas/projects, i'd rather see him come up with an entirely new game again.

they give you more control in Bayonetta because it allows the player to have more freedom as to what their able to do combat wise. It allows you to pull off shit that you could only DREAM of doing in other games. If you even tried to play this game, getting past all the nonsensicle shit, all the jpop influence, you'll clearly see, this game is an evolutionary step for the combat genre.
Yes, Bayonetta pays homage to many games. Sonic, Okami, DMC, as well as other games are tributed in the game.

I agree man, bayoneta is just another dmc game but you use a woman with a big rack and a big trunk. Because of that it makes the game more attractive to people who have never had a GF. I played it at a friend's house and I didn't see anything that dmc doesn't have.

you think dante made up the phrase "let's dance" oh boy, that's probably one of the most over used phrases before a fight in general, movies and games alike, and that "boss fight" at 1:35 is not really a boss fight at all. that's pretty much it right there, extend that for 45 more seconds and it's a short battle. It makes sense the holy guys all resemble statues..the only thing the same about this game is she uses guns.

@Forthias im not telling you to like it of course, everyone is entitled to their oppinion, but for the people that claim the game is shitty...there is a reason when i type the name in and reviews, the majority of the rating are in the 9's A's and above average. Which doesn't mean shit all to someone who hates that kind of game, but the game is doing far from terrible, usually hyped games get crappy reviews, i often see a hyped game get good reviews..and if it does then it did its job.

no not at all, I'm saying if it makes money and gets good reviews then they basically did their job, people come on here saying the game does terrible (not you) instead of quoting everyone one by one i kill like 50 birds with one stone, I personally do not play shooters so I could care less if they get good reviews, but it's hard to argue with numbers and money they bring in. It would basically be me saying "hey your game made millions...but because I hate it, that means it sucks!"

as i am going to school to make games im just starting to see the repetivness in the industry and that nobody is activly searching for anything thats new, it makes money as is so they dont care. the only people that care about evolving the industry at all are the developers who put all the work into it, and sadly they get overlooked by the marketing team and marketing often-times builds a pre-set formula for the game before its even started, to sell it, not to make somthing new and exciting

Yeah that's true, but coming up with new ideas is great and all, well that's probably the BEST thing, but when you have higher up's on your ass to hurry up and give them ideas to make money, they don't have much time for that. I used to work for game companies, and from the outside they are all happy and smiling how they want to deliver the best product for their customers...on the inside i've litterally heard each place say "ehh ship it thats a minor issue..or ehh lets just reuse this"
