Maybe he's striking at his reflection in the lens? Some birds attack reflections, others talk to them and 'feed' them, like my 10 year old Parakeet "Skye". My Quaker Parrot "Gif" hates mirrors. He'll attack them, seriously.

All our cockatiels are rescues. We went from never having had a cockatiel to having three. We had six budgies and a feisty young lovebird, and now we have three tiels, making our flock of fids total ten.
