I know this is a way late comment, but I think knowing how much money you make from youtube would change peoples opinions. It would change mine. I question everything. I would start to question why certain news matters to you. Most cases, people who get sponsored don't want to bite the hand that feeds them, so you may not choose to put out certain news that would paint your sponsor in a bad light.

He only started making money in late '08 when youtube created the partner program (a program where youtubers had the option to get paid for their vids) and invited him and a few other youtuber with over 50,000 subs. He's one of the old tubers though - one of the ones who started in '06 or '07 and actually DID start doing this for free and for fun, just to vlog. It's those 2008 and on noobs I find hard to trust (wondering if they're just trying to get into the PP and make money).

I think some may be curious how much you make because they are interested in starting up the same thing your doing, you know. If you said you can make a living doing it, all they have to do is work hard and commit. I know the answer 1 view = 0.0033 dollars so a millian veiws = 1000000 x. 0.0033= 3390 so it's 3390$ and Raywillian johnson makes 2 times that and he makes 2 videos everyday that's how much he makes

He's right, the numbers are way off i mean 300k ammonth? please this is the real numbers i know due to TMZ relasing it like 6 months ago. IJustine=$8,500 a month,Sexphil=$12,000,Fred=$18,500 and shaneDawson makes the most with $22,000 a month. This all seems like alot but taxes get taken out each check so they lose about 10% of this money. But still it's alot of money, they desrve it becase shane has some expensive high tech computers for editing his stuff.

I think some may be curious how much you make because they are interested in starting up the same thing your doing, you know. If you said you can make a living doing it, all they have to do is work hard and commit. Some wont make that commitment without the knowledge that they can make a 30grand income off doing something like what you do. I for one wouldnt be able to do it unless part time could make 20 grand and full time 50 grand just to cover cost of living in portland oregon.

I always thought no one made money on YouTube till this video and if I would have known earlier I might have tried something to make money off the site. People aren't asking what YOU make exactly, they are trying to figure out how much high level youtubers make, Because we don't know. For some reason you guys are oddly tight lipped on the matter. Professional youtubers are a brand new career, we are just curious how much someone in this new profession makes. There is no reason to get your panties in a bunch.

I think the article is wrong on how it works out roughly how much Youtubers get paid. Im sure they get paid depending on Ad clicks views and subscribers. In all honesty I really don't think it's anyone's place to know how much you make or any other YouTuber's make. Even at an office job no one should need to know what you make. Plus, all the people who have bad opinions about you because you and other YouTuber's make money for doing something you love are the biggest hypocrites in the world. If they could do something they love and get paid for it then they would do it. I guess it all boils down to bitterness and jealousy.

Phil, you should never have to justify how much you make to anyone. And if how much you make cause a shift in someone's view of you, then they suck cause they cannot / will not / are too damn lazy to do the things you are willing to do just to have a slice of pie, a home to live in, and be able to provide for your family.
