Davis Love holed the exact same shot in the final round in '99 when he was chasing Ollie, but it never gets shown! Seriously, it's not a hard shot to get close on that green and loads of players have holed it over the years.

I'm a huge Tiger fan, his record is awesome! But his success is due to his lack of mistakes, not because he hits shots that other's can't hit. If Joe Blogs hits a three-iron stiff the commentators say "good shot". If Tiger hits the exact same shot they call it "unbelievable" and replay it 500 times!! We should be marvelling at Tiger's consistency & coolness under pressure - not over-hyping individual shots that other players have hit equally well. Davis Love in '99, for example.

i remember that davis love shot i almost shit myself and youre right that green sort of funnels down toward the hole so i think making that shot was a little over hyped yet it was a spectacle. Some of the shots though at the 2008 US Open i think only Tiger coulve hit especially in that third round and the tying putt on 18 in the final round.
