Being a Nashville Citizen it disgusts me to even see Mark Wollaeger talk this way about OUR radio station. This isn't just a Vanderbilt issue its a Nashville issue. GIVE US OUR RADIO BACK!
The sale of WRVU is absolute garbage. WRVU is over, no one is going to listen to the station now and I hope this seriously bombs in their faces. Best station in Nashville is gone.
Why does Mark Wollaeger have a smirk on his face when he talks about this? In reviewing his CV and watching his actions, it appears he feels the written word is the only true art form. He doesn't understand that music is the art form that much of the cultural history of Nashville is based upon.
ironic that a Board in charge of student communication finds it so difficult to communicate effectively themselves; I am disgusted in VSC and can't imagine continuing my yearly contributions to the university
As an alum of both WRVU and of the Concerts Committee, I am appalled at the way in which this decision was taken. VSC has pretty much messed up a golden opportunity to develop a serious sustaining endowment, if you consider the alums from the VSC programs over the years and where they have ended up. Alums should participate in the VSC - not administrators and certainly not people stuck in academia who are clueless on what experiences work best to develop pro communicators.

A sad day for Vanderbilt students, the Nashville Community, and college radio across the country.
