  • @bessamemucho take me with you

  • заебись!

  • The barry sisters were so sexy. oh, and the sang pretty good too....

  • What a wonderful song!!!!!

    Why yddish culter is disppering?

  • @bessamemucho

Who says it? It's still alive!

  • @bessamemucho : Oj kindele - did you ever hear about the shoa (holocaust) in Europe? Six millions of yiddish speaking human beings were murdered between 1939 and 1945... But you will find yiddish culture still alive in big american cities with ashkenasic jewish people, and in Israel, and even here in Vienna - in a small scale, but alive.

  • @bessamemucho Yiddish culture seemed to disappear in the 1960s when "asimilation" was the thing of the day, but luckily it's coming back in a big way...

  • Molly Picon sang it first in 1938 in a film Mamele. Barry Sisters performed in 50's-70's

  • awesome ! was it really recorded in 1938 ?

  • @jezinka0077 I think 1938 was just the original version. The arrangement sounds more jazzy and less klezmer than they sounded in the late 30s and early 40s. I'm just guessing, though, and I'm far from an expert on their music.

  • That is one swinging Yiddish tune!

  • I just love the word "shnepsel" ...

  • I like this beter than Molly Picon. They were really great -

  • great ! loved it !

    thanks
