I almost see it (along with several other "issues") as a modern-day witch hunt based around fear and persecution.

@sweiland75 It exists almost everywhere. Yes, it's basically the modern day witch hunt. Why it exists? Many reasons. Children growing up learning about strangers, parents themselves being overprotective, it just being a perverted/sick joke. Pedophilia is out there. It's happened to us in the past, and history has proven to repeat itself many times. Better to be prepared, safe than sorry, and then it just turns into a paranoid joke with teens.
