  • easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol we're playing this I'm my high school band:) it's really fun:)

  • yea you guys are kinda ridiculously good

  • I'm in love with the Bass Clarinetist.

Maybe that's just because I play the same instrument and have performed this song.

But it's probably because he looks attractive from the side :D

Aside from my teenage girl rant, great playing!

  • Extremely good performance

  • i like how the guy on the left suddenly jerks, you guys sound gooood

  • amazing i just loved it you guys sound really good.

  • @Nerdydolfin it improves tone fool

  • @IYADChishtie how so?

  • Nice Job guys. Nice Job. Really nice.

  • Good job!! I've played 1st clarinet for this piece and I can appreciate how effing difficult it is to play in tempo xD

  • That was sick.

  • Just played this arrangement at my IU senior recital

  • 7 people play strings d:

  • its kinda funny to watch them sway from a distance d:

  • It sounds very much like you have just taken the 1st, 2nd, 3rd clarinet, sporano sax and bass clarinet parts from the original composition.

  • @LaurenLikesBananas hey, if you don't like it, check out the sax quartet arrangement of "Molly" also on my page...based on what you've just told me, this one might be more to your liking...if/when you do, listen really closely; things like the key, articulation scheme, harmony, & rhythm might not be as true to form as you remember from the original, which, I suspect, would be something you'd appreciate : )

  • @LaurenLikesBananas The original was a string quartet, so Grainger certainly had groups this size in mind when he wrote this.

  • look at the sexy bass :)

  • @leedan000 thanks!

  • Woot woot clarinets!xDDD!

  • Go bass clarinet guy!! loved his solo just because I played the same a couple years ago and I love this piece :)

  • Pretty good. In the beginning make sure that solo line is very staccato because it contrasts later in the piece from this very bouncy playful song into a flowing sort of wavey melody. Also, in this style when you see the rhythm of something like 1/8 note - 1/4 note and then some rests you need to accent that offbeat note. I forget what it's called, but you need to accent that more.

  • @candlewick163 It's called syncopation : )

  • @julliard06 haha no I don't mean that. I know what syncopation is. I play Scott Joplin rags in my freetime! haha no what I was talking about was i think it is called an irish or scottish jig. It is a stylistic motive used throughout this style of music. nice try though haha again good performance.

  • @candlewick163 Lol, I was just messing with you...I know you know what syncopation is. But yes, the song is based in an "Irish reel" (actually two Irish reels) which stylistically and historically derives from the Irish jig...

  • @julliard06 Yeah, it's a cool piece, and it's really fun to play. My high school wind ensemble played it last year

  • @candlewick163 This may be late to reply to, but are you thinking of a Scottish Snap?

  • Great! I'm a clarinet major in Michigan and I will be in attendance at the festival in L.A this summer, I hope to see this live!

  • This is amazing. My only word of advice is to use faster air on the high register, it sounds like you might be doing it, but it's probably just the camera. Anyways, Amazing performance.

  • HEEHEEEHEE-3 SOAMAZING-3

  • Tht's Wht I'm Talkin Bout ! Ya'll Are Beastiee .. My Band Is Playin Tht Piece This Semesterr . Ya'll Did Ya'll Thang , Ya Digg . Representin For Thee Clarinetss =]

  • I like the guy rocking in his chair.

  • This is amazing :o

  • even squidward couldnt beat you guys! :)

  • @cgtrojan22 : )

  • @cgtrojan22 Squidward can't play, remember that

  • @jus400track true

  • Mind the triplets, please...

  • love this piece very well done!

  • WOW this was really good. Lol but one thing is that yall look like you gotta pee xD

  • SO.EPIC.-3.

  • just one thing to say : CLARINETS ARE BEAST!!!!!!!!!

  • GO CLARINETS!!! you all are amazing and I hope to be that great when I get to that level. I play first clarinet in my high school wind ensemble and we might be playing this next year so I'm super excited! wish me luck! :D

  • Oh my word I aboslutely loved it! As a female clarinetist, I've never met 4 guys that are so passionate about clarinet as y'all. Keep up the great work!

  • wish the audio was better, but good job! :D

  • Someone's a bass clarinet beast....

  • This is so unbelievably amazing. I hope i'm this good when i'm older

  • Our class has to play this hope it sounds yhis awesome

  • SO AMAZING!!!! :DDDD

  • OMG MY CLARINET sounds like the guy playing really fast in the beginning. i cant play as fast as him yet but im trying.(: haha

  • this piece is definetly super kool but its rather distracting from the music when they move around while playing :/ but as i said. siper kool piece. love it:)

  • AH, THIS is why I love playing clarinet! I know my quartet would looooove to play this arrangement! We're always looking for new music to add to our performance list.

  • Amazing! My High school band Just played Molly, I love the arrangment! Grainger is a genius, Lincolnshire Posey is my favorite though :)

  • It's really good, but I wish the acoustics weren't so bad. And I think it sounds better as a band.

  • A nice reminder of why I am a clarinetist! Good job, impressive!

  • My clarinet professor would FREAK OUT if she could get her hands on this for Clarinet Ensemble.

  • So this is like one of my favorite pieces for band and the fact that you arranged it for a clarinet quartet just makes me love it even more! You guys did a great job performing it as well, keep up the good work!

  • I am sick I love playing music like this - Can't live with out the challenge. :)

  • Tell that to the people i play with i am sick of the easy stuff wish they would man up and decide for once in their lifes that harder things are MORE fun!

  • did you arrange this yourself? ITs a good arrangement. Love the piece!

  • yeah, arranged it a few years ago...check out some of my other arrangements on my page.

  • Pretty terrible acoustics where you're playing, but you're all very talented

  • lol...you should hear that hall live...it IS pretty amazing acoustically, this recording really doesn't do the hall justice. I recorded this from my handheld camera, after all.

  • lol my school marching band sight read this and my clarinet section leader dam lam totally pwned the crap out of this song

    ytou guys sound so beautiful

    i will now practice

  • glad to know you enjoyed it!

  • My high school is playing that for a concert (with all instruments) and we have the worst time coordinating the band, so seeing you guys playing so well makes me jealous but also gives me hope that we can do it. Awesome job guys!

I checked out the clair de lune and that was awesome to!

  • Thanks alot man for listening!

  • amazing!! i'm an irish clarinettist and music student, and you dont really find too much like this for calrinet groups!

    makes me jealous..

  • if you want, you can message me and i'll let you know how to get a hold of this piece and some of my other pieces as well...

  • dude i'm going to try and arrange this for clarinet quartet and this has been a good inspiration.....although i would definitely fix some of the chords it messes up the sound....overall a FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTISTIC job as a clarinetist who plays this i'm glad to hear it done sooooooo soooo well AWESOME JOB GUYS!!!

  • dude, thanks so much!

  • this is pretty cool. i'm guessing this is gonna be a piece my director is going to choose for next years clarinets O: i love how musicians get into the music, like swaying to it and stuff, you know. idk. i notice myself doing that alot too.

  • : )

I'm not a clarinetist, but i do the same thing when i play my horn, so i know what you mean!

  • Great job guys, I really enjoyed this!

  • They really are a amazing players, kudos to them!

  • Theres no need for a neck strap!

  • Some models of Clarinet (Selmer Recital especially!!) are quite heavy. The strap is almost necessary for those to prevent injury to the hand.

  • is the music project thing the violinst and the brass players came to are school the wood winds havent came yet

  • why does the clarinetist in the far left have a neckstrap?

  • The clarinet is made of very heavy wood, and the pressure on the thumb takes some getting used to. Wearing a neck strap makes the clarinet seem to float, fairly weightless.

  • are u talking about that specific clarinet or clarinets in general?

  • I am talking about clarinets in general. I tried a strap. They take a bit of getting used to but I found it worth while.

  • some people find it necessary to practice and play for long periods of time. the clarinet's weight can cause nerve damage in the hand wrist and arm. God forbid your source of income is ruined eh?

  • This was SO. GOOD. This was my tryout piece, and I fell in love with it. This is so beautiful, you all did an amazing job, and so much fun to watch too!

  • : ) thanks for listening!

  • Really good i like to watch yall move around... lol :P its funny great dynamics and i try and play this but it always comes out with squeeks... haha but ya good :D Also it sounds like there is every band member in here !!! Which is great that yall can make it sound like that

  • it was my goal to make this arrangement sound as authentic as possible, much like the original band and string quartet versions...

  • do you go to julliard?

  • @julliard06 Goal accomplished! It sounds very authentic to me =)

  • Great job, William. Check out the arrangements on my channel.

  • Wow, this is really great! I'm definitely going to dig out my clarinet this weekend and relive my glory days. :)

  • wow this is amazing! :D

ive played clarinet most of my life and my band director wanted our section to play this

and i was wondering what its supposed to sound like. i cant wait to play this peice, you guys are really talented ^^

  • wow!!!! you guys are amazing! beautiful clarinet playing! =)

  • this made my day! :D

    awesome clarinetists. MAN.

  • on the real, dudes! i'm guessing this arrangement isn't up for grabs anywhere, right?

  • all they did was play 1st, 2nd, and 3rd part Bb clarinet for the original Granger piece. Along with 1st Bass Clarinet part. :D

  • ah, very insightful of you...

actually, more material was taken from the original String Quartet version than from the Band Arrangement...i just decided to put the key in A flat major as to make it more feasible for the players to execute the piece accurately...i believe the did a very fine job regardless.

    : )

  • haha okay;D sure..

  • not yet, i'm hoping to publish this arrangement quite soon!

  • if you want, you can message me and i'll let you know how to get a hold of it,,,

  • WOW I love this piece! Good job guys!

  • Neck straps. It's a clarinet. This proves that you don't need to go to college to be a good clarinet player.

  • Actually, I'm a violin player and I can see how a neck strap would be useful for providing the optimal movement for your hands (especially for the level of music seen here). Rather than propping the weight of the clarinet with your hands, neck straps allow free range of motion of the hands.

  • this reminded me of when I was younger, playing in wind orchestras!!

  • This made me smile.

  • I loved performing this piece, the clarinet part is so much fun!

  • my band is playing this right now. it is so fun. our clarinets kick butt for high schoolers..although we did play it at bass hall yesterday and we basically drowned molly on that shore

  • Bravo!!

  • Awesome performance. Amazing run at 3:57, you guys owned Molly and her Shore.

  • This is bad ass! Clarinets rule!

  • that bass part is hot

  • absolutely amazing! I wish i can play clarinet like that

  • thank you man, these guys were awesome... performed excellently!

  • very good!
