I think the New International Version is easier to understand: 9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
Not necessarily braiding but if she was to add expensive hair accessories or jewelry. French braid is great for thick, long hair. I use to braid bangs then place in a bun or twist.
@peacoman: You have a misinterpretation of the meaning to this verse. The hair style in this time is braided hair; braided hair was a way to decorate your hair. What the scripture merely means is to be humble in a way that is not giving glory to yourself but to God because it can be very easy to have vanity. “That women adorn themselves in modest apparel…not with broided (braided) hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.” Tim2:9 NKJV
@smokinmcjokin its a search term, but also, the hairstyles tend to be for longer hair, and are usually up-dos and bigger/poofier, than "normal" hairstyles. but really anyone can use "pentecostal hairstyles" whether you're pentecostal or not.
Nothing, it's just that "Apostolic/Pentecostal" hairstyle is how most Apostolics fix their long hair on a daily basis. Other people only do their hair like this for special events.
Sweet. I like making it more straight than slanted. I really can't do the proper french braid so I guess my boyfriend can do this for me. But I think the inverted looks better.
