  • Well early in the morning, about the break of day,

I ask the Lord, "Help me find the way!"

Help me find the way to the promised land

This lonely body needs a helping hand

I ask the Lord to help me please find the way.

When the new day's a dawning, I bow my head in prayer.

I pray to the Lord, "Won't you lead me there?"

Won't you guide me safely to the Golden Stair?

Won't you let this body your burden share?

I pray to the Lord, "Won't you lead me please, lead me there?"

  • Thumbs up if Peter Paul and Mary, Early in the Morning brought you here... Oh wait.

  • I just finished watching Season 3 on Netflix. This got to me, too, as I hadn't heard the P,P & M version since 1963. I was crying. I was going through some really hard stuff (better now), and it was very uplifting.

i really enjoyed this episode, but above all what i like most in this serie is the music and the recreation of that age

  • Poor ole Don...will he ever catche a break?

  • Anyone know where I can pay to download this music? On the Mad Men CD its only 1min 51 secs, not really worth it!

  • @theviksterful The original song's only short, so I wouldn't expect to find a longer version elsewhere.

  • an absolutely perfect exit scene both visually and in audio. Simply amazing directing

  • I hadn't heard this song since I was in grade school. I'm watching Mad Men on DVD to catch up, and this scene caught me totally off guard. When they sequed into the acutally song, I totally lost it. It was like over 45 years just fell away.
