and you "believe" this why? Care to share a source or any other info I might've missed? You never know, if you're not a troll I might just learn something new...
@h8cr Not wanting to intervene, but there is a piece missing; in the very original (heard it on cassette/tape), Edison guffaws after reading the poem :)
@h8cr he has a point since he said the first words i spoke in the original phonograph, to me it dosent seem like he would say this during the first time recording sound, but I could be wrong.
Yeah, I think you're all right, this must be a reenactment and as far as I can tell, the original really was never saved. Oh well, I think we (I at least) learned something new today ;)
@h8cr Edison Was not the first to record his voice.A French inventor named Eduard Leon-Scott-De-Martinville did it seventeen years before edison did in 1860
I never said he was the first to "record his voice".
De Martinville was the first to record, HOWEVER, it was never intended for playback, as there simply was no way for that to happen back then. Since I see you've already looked up wiki for your info, you probably missed the fact it wasn't until 2008 it was played back by modern computers.
Edison was the first to RECORD and then PLAYBACK his recording, which, IMHO was a bigger feat!
Hi, do you still have the source details for this recording? I would like to use it for a class assignment and will need to cite it accurately, if you could provide me with this info I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance,
Sorry for the late reply, I unfortunately lost the source, but I am sure that you can google around and find what you need. Good luck on your paper :)
It must be a reenactment. He is an old man when he recorded this and he introduces this as if this is a reenactment.

@h8cr because it's all over the internet. the audio is exactly the same as in his 1927 speech.

@h8cr the more I look into it, I think this is a re-enactment too.

@Lokalaskurar edit: the very VERY original was not saved, pardon my language. But just as the reenactment in 1927, there were early reenactments.

I'm sure thats just the bad quality of the recording, nothing to feel sad about, seeing as how he made a revolutionary discovery :)

Yes indeed it was Edison who recorded "Mary had a little lamb".
If you need any further info, please do let me know, I'll be more than happy to provide you with additional sources :)
