  • You did such an amazing job on this sheath that it looks like production. Really great work bother!

  • @Patriot36 Thanks buddy, it's fun for me to have guys like yourself to show it off to. The wife just isn't impressed : )

  • Man you are getting good with Kydex my friend! I really need to get off of my lazy butt and order some Kydex. I have a few knives that I like but hate the sheaths. I really enjoy seeing your "How To" vids as well as just seeing a video on the end result. Again that is a professional looking sheath. Take care brother.

  • @SnowLobo95 Lobo in the house! I appreciate that brother, now get off your lazy butt : )

  • Great knife. I have had literally every knife in the spectrum size wise that is comparable to the the SRK and still keep one in the truck (old Carbon V) and one on the belt when I go out hiking. The other knives like the ESEE 5 and Scrapyard stuff is great and pricey but the weight and nimbleness in hand of the SRK outclass them. Your sheath is nice, well made too. I just put a tek lok on the factory plastic and it serves just fine.

  • Camp, that is one good looking sheath. Seriously looks like you purchased it. Really nice job putting it together.

  • @Cr0cket20 Whatever keeps me off the streets : ) Thanks brother

  • Great knife and great sheath. Good work, buddy. I can definitely see the value in having two sheaths for the same knife, especially using them as you do,

  • Very nice! I always enjoy your Kydex vids. Also, thanks for the channel links and recommendations. Be safe!

  • @USNERDOC No problem & it's truly my pleasure. You know I enjoy this "forum" & the sharing of info. Had it not been for your encouragement early on I probably would not have continued on. Thanks again my friend.

  • Very nice CT! I am sure Mike appreciates the shout out.

  • @hinckleypoland Yep, his channel is fairly new to me, & we've exchanged some great messages recently. Good guy for sure. He's right up there with you : ) Thanks for the complement brother.

  • Nicely done. You DIY guys put me to shame. I don't make anything on my own, but I do own a screwdriver...oh, and a hammer. Take care bro...Dash

  • @mrriprock2 Add a roll of duct tape to your tools & then you could rule the whole tri-state area!

  • that's a fine looking job. the retention is impressive!

  • Nice work Campy! The SRK is a knife I have always looked at...What are your thoughts as a hiking knife?

  • @ihikearoundcom The srk as a hiking knife, well sir it really depends on, are you more into ul hiking &/or do you do campfires. Regarding campfires how do you process firewood. Typically I don't need to baton firewood. The srk would not be recommended if you're wanting to go ul (too heavy for that) It's good weight & a great knife. Not sure if I answered your question : ) send me a pm

  • The belt draw lock is a right goodie. You done did good))))

  • @shugemery Thanks Shug, the Tek-Lok clip also comes in a smaller size. I use the smaller ones on Mora knife sheaths. I know you like to wear your knife like me so we can draw fast : )

  • Really Nice Job

  • @krazy45cat I appreciate it Cat, take care brother.

  • Well done sir! Your craftmanship is always top notch, I know I have some of it!

  • @mongrelman002 anytime buddy

  • @Smith28Adventure Hey partner good to hear that the WD40 did the trick. It's always good to have a can of that on the shelf. I recently started using ballistol & am really impressed with it.

The srk is a good chuck of steel. Feels like holding a tank : )

  • Great job and Gavkoo did do a great video on how too! Like the new sheath, much cleaner and simple on your belt or strap plus now quick release.

  • @CaptainFur Yes sir, that's exactly what I was going for. Plus, the do-it-yourself part of me was itching for another project : ) Take care Captain

  • Excellent job on the sheath Camp... looks great! Of course we wouldn't expect any less coming from you buddy ;-)

  • @intenseangler Well video sure helps at keeping me honest : ) I've got to work extra hard for ya'll

  • Nice job on the Sheath thanks again for sharing. Londian

  • @Londian Hey thank you for the support. Take care Londian

  • That is some fine work! I continue to be inspired by your work - someday my friend, someday soon...

  • @wawhiker I hear ya brother

  • Realy nice work James keep safe brother

  • @medicjimr Sure thing, you too brother.

  • Fantastic job Sir! I just got a Becker BK-2 -- Love the knife! The sheath...not so much. Unfortunately, that's right when Gavkoo said that he wasn't taking anymore kydex orders.

    ;^{(>

  • @AppalachianFreedom Good choice with the Becker BK-2. Well if you're wanting to get a great sheath for it & not wanting to tackle this yourself send grizzly-outdoors a message. Tell Matt that I sent you. He's does excellent Kydex sheaths for Becker knives. His link is in the video description of this video if interested. I think his prices are very reasonable & you can get a great fire steel mount on the sheath as well.

Always good to hear from you brother!

  • @CampfireTalk -- Thank you Sir!

  • you did a fantastic job, looked "store bought" for sure. Very professional finish

  • @beelikestowatch I built a mahogany shelf once & when I showed it to a friend of mine he said it looked "store bought". Thank ya kindly sir & I hope that Hunt-Dri has been keeping you dry through this wet winter we're having. take care

  • Good job man!

  • Nice man! I think it looks better than the factory one.

  • @HawkLMT Yep, take that coldsteel sheath dept! : )

  • looks good !

  • @xdmatt1320 Hey I'll take that coming from you. This was the fist one I did that wasn't a fold over design. I still like that style (uses less material) just wanted to try this one out. I'm happy with how it turned out.

  • Great sheath looks really professional !!

  • @kycanoecamper Thanks Kentucky! Each one gets a little bit better.

  • wow, nice job!

  • @drzmanproject DrZman! what's up buddy? Thanks for the complement. If you didn't already have the Crossbreed holster I would say make some custom holsters for the Glocks : )

  • great work, I just need to gather the confidence to attempt that now

  • @dragonflyhiker You already have it! One step at a time, take care brother.

  • great work Camp. and big thank you for mentioning my video. it always makes me very happy to hear that some of my tutorials helped. such a great feeling.

    be well and stay safe,

    mike

  • @gavkoo I know the feeling. I always hope that some of what I share is either of interest or helpful. Thanks again for the tips, they helped me to turn out my best sheath yet!

  • @CampfireTalk if i can advice maybe little bit, i recommend leaving the top of the sheath covering the handle little longer and rather heat it up to loosen the retention then just making it very tight and having very small length of the kydex holding it. it looks nicer and also gives you better option for mounting different hardware. check out the bk2 kydex sheath tek lok idea i had. i think you will like it if you like tekloks. and it will work on any knife pretty much

  • @gavkoo Advise on brother. I'm sure your tips will help not only me, but others that read through the comments.

That is helpful as that part of the sheath is kind of still a mystery for me. Especially with the coldsteel srk I was wondering how to trim it up because of its shape at the base of the blade. Thanks again

  • @CampfireTalk when i have knives like that i learned to leave it longer adn once everything is finished, i just heat up the top again and spread it out on the end a bit so the knife can nicely slip inside without edges running into edges of kydex. thats the fun of kydex. every single knife is different. that was a big fun/challenge when i was doing it for people.

  • That is SWEET lookin' bro! Very nice work :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Hey there's another do-it-yourselfer : ) I appreciate that my northern neighbor. Kydex is bit on the heavy side, but fun to work with & has millions of applications. I go with the .093 thickness which is a bit overkill, but you could get away with .080 on Mora sized knives & be fine. Take care

  • If I wasn't such a leather freak I would try some Kydex.

  • @ArtisanTony I know you are, it's all about enjoying the materials you're working with right : )

  • @CampfireTalk exactly!

  • Good job man. It looks very professional.

  • @handyscot1 Thank ya sir

  • nice work, I like the color of that kydex

  • @beast12101 me too buddy, it's my favorite : ) take care

  • Nice job...I'm looking forward to the "How To" vid to see all the various steps. Really nice job man!!!

  • @ipponutoo I sure do appreciate that. I like the "how to" vids as well.

  • Fine work Camp, man you say your not an expert but that is expert work. I will definitely have to look at your first kydex vid you did to get pointers. Fab work.....

  • @ScoutsNOA You tha man Scout!

  • looks sweet, nice job m8
