I would have bought a Benjamin 392 or 397 for a few bucks more, and it gives you room to modify as there are tons of online shops for customization. Anyway, nice review and thanks for the slideshow.
i have the izh 38 .177 cal and it's just brilliant. I can hit 1p's at 25 yards and can shoot out to 75 yards and hit the round bottom of a coke can. But at this range the pellet does not realy have enough power to kill. But anywere up to 50 yards you will still have enough power to kill a squirrel (i know this for a fact). But the major set back is that it's only around 7 - 9 foot pounds and the trigger is just auwfull, you have topull it back about 1/4 inch to fire the damn thing.
@jindra1971 At me on MP512 optics gamo 4x32, a spring from IJ38 a back stopper pierced in shop took. The truth was necessary to steam of coils to saw off was not cocked in any way in the piston additional cargo, trigger ;) trigger is sawn round and now not so sticks into a finger. Open sight has cleaned absolutely, in the complete set there was a nozzle for change of a tip from an open sight on optics. Lies at home for a year, one is not interesting to shoot at targets.
my Murka optics gamo 4x32 straightened by most do not laugh priuzhina matrix of 38 tylnik protochenny in the store took it. The truth had to cut off a couple of turns does not wind up;) in the piston additional cargo hook release obpilen and now not so bites into finger. Open sights removed entirely, complete a change of nozzle tip with an open sight on the optics. Lies already, the two houses go populyakat sands.
@ 2:53 "Very good accuracy on distances up to 20 feet"... Sorry bro but 20 feet is a pretty short distance I had a Gamo Maxima and I hit soda cans at 70 yards; and Gamos aren't the most accurate rifles out there so....
thanks a lot for your comment. The MP 512 is a low budget gun. For the price i find it very relyable and well made. So far i did severel thousend shots without any repairs.
thank you for your comment.Your IZH 61 is a fixed barrel rifle wich performes much more accuracy. Its a very nice rifle but i prefere the classical look of the MP 512
In fact MP-512 has the very same accuracy as IZH-61 and IZH-60. In digits, grouping is about 1 inch at 25 meters. I think this is not bad for a low-priced gun.
BTW: MP-512 is VERY popular in Russia because of a huge potential of increasing power (up to ~14J kinetic energy). For many beginners in airgunning MR-512 was a first rifle and a cheap way to experience hunting for crows. Practical shooting distances with proper scope and hi quality pellets are up to 40 meters.
thanks for your comment. This slide show should give a inside of the handling and look of the gun. Its nothing about action shooting or hunting with the gun.
nothing special...pistols are more fun to have with. Recently i cutout rife butt and its a pretty looks like shorty (plastic black, exactley same as wooden mp512 construction)...oh yeah lol=ive take 25cent and replace a spring coz ever1 say about it... This rifle was popular in early 2003. watch me shooting the bottles with it - watch?v=u6cEYqcQqBU

thanks a lot for your comment.I am not sure if you can get this gun in denmark. The guns from weihrauch are very well made, very reliable- good choice. Consider that a Baikal cost you only a quarter of the price of a weihrauch- thats a over leauge.Take care, Jindra
Baikal MP-512 series airguns are really with perfect accuracy. Although the trigger is bit rough I can hit with tis air rifle the target from 6o feet distance in average 2". Presently I have Baikal MP-512M rifle. Although the muzzle speed is not anymore ideal (735 fps versus 565 fps) I'm taking down Coke's plastic half-litre bottle from 130 feet! And thats with open sights! Should tell that Russian Izhmash company produces beside AK-s etc. also nice airguns.
thank you very much for your comment.Your magnum Version of the 512 sounds very interesting, a bit more power would be nice for longer distances. I will have a other try on a longer distances with mine as well.
Do you know the MP513,a magnum airgun in cal.22 witch makes 280 m/s, unfortunatly it is not sold in Europe.
Yes, I know also MP513 but the larger caliber is not allowed in my country as it is permitted for limited useage of cal.177 air guns.Larger ones should be registrated. But there is also MP513 version of "normal" caliber, making 300 m/s.Concerning Baikal products it is remarkable, that the muzzle velocity remains for a long time almost constantly high - guess I have shot ca'6000 pellets through the barrel and velocity is still 210-218 m/s with Chezch Diabolo Master flat nose pellets

this is to people that are saying its not accurate if you are using the scope it will be less accurate because the scope is behind the action
