Last night, I took the regular dose (10mg), but for the purpose of getting high. It started kicking in after about 30 minutes, and for about an hour I was feeling pretty good and trippy. I started to get really tired so I just lay down. Honestly I don't remember when or if I even went to sleep. In the morning, I had knocked my glass of water off the table, and I actually have a very slight memory of doing so. Seriously, I wonder if I was awake or not?! Man, I felt good though haha.

Damn, I want some pizza now. funny vid. I love how ambien would knock you old cold or at least for a while. as long as you didn't sleepwalk and drive a car. Lunesta doesn't work for me anymore :(. I need to clean all this junk out of my system. more pills more pill more PILLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZ

75mg????????????????? Oh my goodness. I take 10mg every once in a while. Not time release CR so I an cut it in half and do 5mg sometimes.

I really hope your prescription didn't call for taking 75mg of Ambien and that it's just you getting tolerant of it. Have you been on that dosage long?

I was looking at my other prescription. It is only 10 mg. I realized this after mykylc's comment and never took the time to correct myself. I take 75 mg of Effexor 2 times a day and 10 mg of ambien. Sorry for the mix up!

Haha, that makes more sense :) I once kept telling doctors and nurses that I took 150mg of Prevacid...it's actually 35mg. Quite a difference!

Don't think they make a higher dosage than 10 mg. Never seen tx for patient or myself any higher. 30 mg would be a danger to respiration it would be so sedative and hypnotic.

Drugs are just tools, and they can be used wisely or foolishly. If you take an Ambien, be responsible. Don't mix it with other drugs/alcohol! Make sure you can't get to your car keys. Have your spouse/friend/room mate/whoever keep an eye on you. While the drug cos can be evil, it really comes down to personal responsibility. Instead of demonizing a perfectly helpful drug (as if driving while sleep deprived is MUCH better!), why not do some reading up on all sides of the issue? Just my $0.02.

The other posters are right...it is about responsibility. Any doctor would advise you to be very careful until you know how the medicine will affect you personally. When I first started taking it I had more severe side effects, but now I know what to expect. If you're going to take a drug, legal or not, you need to be able to use it responsibly.
