not so well. my 8 yr relationship broke up last year and i had to move away from the ocean into the suburbs. i posted a video in response, that is the land i love, moved here to live in my family's house but hope, really hope, to get back to the ocean someday... one day maybe....

so i'll type how i'm doing. i've been depressed the last month post-break up from my boyfriend. he's an alcoholic and relapsed and was verbally/emotionally abuse and i'd had enough. ugh. i was lucky enough to spend the month unemployed and just take the time to chill and do little home renovations and just go through the tumultuous emotions. yep, my tale is a bummer but i'm pulling out of the mire now & will look for work again on monday.
I love being by the sea, but live as far away from it as is possible now.
I've been away fro YT for about 6 months because of this damned recession, or whatever they want to call it. I seem to just have to work all the time to make ends meet, but I realise it's not getting any better, and miss my 'me' time, which included YT. SO, I decided to try to get back in the mix. I may not be able to watch as many vids as I used to, but I'll still look at my favourites, which always included you, Curt.
it is funny how things seem to have gotten a bit quiet on YT, I'm finding I have less time to invest in it for various reasons and seems others are too.
Thanks for asking, Kathy - none in my immediate area. About the closest any seems to be is about 30 or 40 minutes north of me. Nbwulf is closer to it actually than I am but so far I think he's in no danger.

I'm just basically burned out and resting. SAD bothers me this time of year so my energy level is kinda down and it takes me longer to get stuff (like editing videos) done. I still have a mountain of videos to work on that were shot in the last year or so, so I'll be concentrating on those for a while...
I plan on editing more Key West footage, but most of what I have left was shot at night :) I also have a lot of good stuff from the summer... With my music library and record/CD/tape collection I'm doing alright. I also sit under my full spectrum light every day. It helps a lot...
Thanks again for doing that video response. We all aspire to your multi-tasking abilities.

The D.C. thing... SandieBlack and Videochick770 (Kathy) are the culprits behind those plans. On November 15th there's going to be a party in D.C., plus they're having a paint ball thing on Sunday the 16th. I'll be there for site seeing on the 15th but will fly back on Sunday and miss the paint fight.
For me it's been a lack of time. I've been overly busy in the "real world" and then my online time has been eaten up by VH. But I try to check in here sometimes. I'll try to do a reply to this... if I get time... Now, if I had time to go to the beach, then I'd be real good.

What camera were you using for this? At first I thought a Mac laptop cause of the quality but then I don't think you would have been holding it all that time. haha Anyway, the picture quality is fantastic!!

(when you mentioned gas prices, while at the ocean, i thought of sailboats... then i got lost in sailboat dreams. then i thought sailboats prolly have a small outboard motors, cause the wind can really take you out where you dont need to be. Then i wondered about Sailboat safety... i think i had alot of java today... sharing my thoughts with you this way makes me sound insane and i dont care! LOL :D HI CURT!

Great idea Curt. I just can't seem to find time to get videos together lately...hopefully soon. One of my biggest gripes of late, is the abundence of shared videos. I am being emailed upwards of one hundred times a day with sent videos! There is no way to keep up...so I seem to keep out more these days. I did write a rap about it that I need to put together. It's called "Everybody hits send". I'll "Share" it with you when I get it done! ;-)

When it comes to vlogging I prefer to put out bits and pieces here and there. Then let people read between the lines and hope they fill in the gaps with with exciting and wonderous stuff instead of the plain jane stuff which exists. At any rate I love the plain jane stuff:) Today I switched up and ate at a Japanese place instead of my usual Chinese place. It SUCKED. This evening I've been watching snippets of Bill Mahr on YouTube because I've missed every one of his shows this season.
I would love to make a video response to this, but I think I want to script one out first and try out some new editing software to do it and maybe use some cool new transitions and effects???

Great question Curt. I have all kinds of crud going on that takes me away from things I want to do. But will make a video Monday while doing one of those things. Working on and Art installation project with a friend. That is where I am content.
Lately when I try to walk through sliding doors they hesitate before opening. Makes me wonder if I've done something to prevent *those* eyes from seeing me.
I might have to start seriously questioning whether or not I exist.
If that's true, it's a total accident, I promise. Have been packing on the pounds lately and will likely be pursuing a career as a sumo wrestler by the time I graduate.

I haven't been vlogging as much, either these days. Mostly due to college I've only had time to vlog on the weekends. I've been a little stressed and stir crazy both at the same time. If you want to see some picture. JeepGirl2 and I can send you some. I just can't go and see in person. The Balinese was on the seawall. It was a famous night club back in the 40's. In fact Galveston was known for it's gambling before Vegas was Vegas. Well, this club is gone forever. It had a trap door that would hide the customers when The Texas Rangers would raid it. Lot of awesome history, back in the days when The Mafia ran the town.
Very very good point - I think you're right, with all the technology at our fingertips and the experience most people have under their belts now, it feels like every video needs to be some sort of masterpiece which is exactly the opposite of what vlogging is all about.

YEAH, lots of power to THOSE waves especially. Time of year has something to do with the way it looked today but overall that beach is known for pretty intense waves anyway. Just one of the reasons it's my favorite.

It's a Sony 990x that I got a couple years ago. Records on Hi8 digital tapes. The quality has always kept me happy.
And CONGRATS to your parents, that's fantastic! They should be sought after for advice, given the current divorce rates.

Great idea Curt. I just can't seem to find time to get videos together lately...hopefully soon. One of my biggest gripes of late, is the abundence of shared videos. I am being emailed upwards of one hundred times a day with sent videos! There is no way to keep up...so I seem to keep out more these days. I did write a rap about it that I need to put together. It's called "Everybody hits send". I'll "Share" it with you when I get it done! ;-)

Great vid, Curt. I found it by watching Mandy's response to it. I remember seeing you at the first SouthTube Gathering at the cook out. If you remember seeing a guy wearing oxygen that was me. I love it when you vlog from your special rock - with the Pacific surf crashing in. I feel as if I were there. I can't make any videos now, I've had major surgical stuff going on and don't have the focus or time. Love that rock of yours.. Good to see it again! :) I'm NOT making videos at the moment, not even on my response channel.. Just lost interest! Otherwise than that I'm ok, it's just not fun anymore.. I even bought some props the other day, but can't be bothered to use them now! Quite sad, I think.. When it comes to vlogging I prefer to put out bits and pieces here and there. Then let people read between the lines and hope they fill in the gaps with with exciting and wonderous stuff instead of the plain jane stuff which exists. At any rate I love the plain jane stuff:) Today I switched up and ate at a Japanese place instead of my usual Chinese place. It SUCKED. This evening I've been watching snippets of Bill Mahr on YouTube because I've missed every one of his shows this season.

Great question Curt. I have all kinds of crud going on that takes me away from things I want to do. But will make a video Monday while doing one of those things. Working on and Art installation project with a friend. That is where I am content.

Curt, that was so lovely. I always enjoy seeing your vlogs and of course, the ocean footage was breathtakingly beautiful. You should go to that spot more often, and in fact if you did a whole video just panning around that beach, I would favorite it and watch it from time to time just to chill myself out.

I haven't been vlogging as much, either these days. Mostly due to college I've only had time to vlog on the weekends. I've been a little stressed and stir crazy both at the same time. Curt, have I told you that I love it when you take us to the beach? Well, I love it! Our beach looks like crap right now because of Hurricane Ike. I can't even bring myself to go there. Some historical buildings are gone. Some who had withstood the 1900 Storm. Kinda sad.
I agree with you about the tagging videos. I think people ask too much of others and people can't say no. So they get burned out. So good to see you. We were without lights for two wks. No YT. I missed you guys!

If you want to see some picture. JeepGirl2 and I can send you some. I just can't go and see in person. The Balinese was on the seawall. It was a famous night club back in the 40's. In fact Galveston was known for it's gambling before Vegas was Vegas. Well, this club is gone forever. It had a trap door that would hide the customers when The Texas Rangers would raid it. Lot of awesome history, back in the days when The Mafia ran the town.

Very very good point - I think you're right, with all the technology at our fingertips and the experience most people have under their belts now, it feels like every video needs to be some sort of masterpiece which is exactly the opposite of what vlogging is all about.

YEAH, lots of power to THOSE waves especially. Time of year has something to do with the way it looked today but overall that beach is known for pretty intense waves anyway. Just one of the reasons it's my favorite.
