  • @2ootsie Cool! Hope it went well. :-)

  • This is really good!

  • Yes!!! Yes!!! Finally I played this song!!!

  • i find that as i go through this tutorials- i learn that i tend to overcomplicate my interpretations; hence, i need (ed) to develope better discipline by actaully slowing it all down and learning the actual music as oppossed to '" faking it." eg besides making me a beter musician/ piano player your i'm becoming a betteer person ( getting better all the time)

  • @plpeak That's a good idea - sometimes we make things more complicated than they actually are. You're doing it right!

  • hi, man i'm still learning, imagine i'm have way there thanks man, and god bless.

  • @oscar2oo9 You're very welcome, keep up the good work!

  • It would be great if you could do a tutorial for instant karma. I would love to learn how to play that song.

  • Great stuff, you should do Mother.

  • I learned this song on piano thanks to you! One of most favorite songs. You're such a good teacher. My favorite throughout the internet. Thank you!

  • @Sarah25737 Very glad it helped you!

  • Great video. is this the real version that john lennon played

  • I love your tutorials but for me they are difficult but forget about it your tutorials are awesome

  • @N1wwefan Glad you liked it, N1wwefan, thanks!

  • Thanksyou so much, you are the greatest person alive :)

  • @dancesinglaughplay You're very welcome. :-)

  • My fingers are too small to reach a full octave u.u BUT I SO LEARNED THIS. I'm ADD, too, so when you didn't have the yellow notes up, I got confused, but I have the talent of picking out what I need, so we're all good. XD great video. ^^

  • @DeceitfulCheshire Good to know it worked for you. If you can't reach the octaves, just play the lower note by itself in the left hand and that will work fine!

  • You are awesome

  • @eravuri Thanks. :-)

  • Thank you so much pianojohn your videos inspire me a lot. I was hoping you would make a tutorial for the song she loves you

  • This shit is perfect.

  • You are a very good teacher, keep the good work up! Personally I just had doubts in the "all" section, but the rest was incredible!

  • @ElReyDeLosTacos1 Glad you enjoyed it. :-)

  • Thank you so much your tutorials are so straight forward and easy to follow after half an hour practice I had the basics of the song after 2 hours I was doing it with my eyes shut. Thank you!!!!

  • @jcotter1888 That's awesome, great job! Congrats on learning it so quickly!

  • @pianojohn113 for how long have you been playing the piano?

  • @babsag I've been playing for about 45 years. I guess I'm getting old...

  • I love your tutorials but there's something I've always wanted to know, what type of piano do you have?

  • @DANNYGRIL3 It's a Boston GP-163.

  • I already know how to play this, but my damn hands are too small so I can play it well! :(

  • @Holiday061798 *can't

  • @Holiday061798 ik same! it sucks :(

  • This video is the only reason why I know how to play this song! You are the best pianojohn113! I am going to contiue watching your videos and add to my list of songs learned :)

  • @bigguns2014 I just saw your video, nice job!

  • @pianojohn113 Thanks pianojohn! I couldn't have done it without your video! Thanks for taking the time to make all these tutorials and watch my video!

  • 5:07 you add a middle C with #5 on the RH. but you dont mention it. I threw it in and it sounds nice. Thanks pianojohn113

  • @shaadoguardian I hadn't noticed that, sort of a "happy accident," I guess!

  • me thumb doesnt reach the second c :S im having huge difficulty with just the beginning!!! :L

  • @rachiepbaby One way to get around that is to play the lower C with the left hand, and play the second C with the right. The fignering would be slightly different than how I showed it, because you'll need to reach the upper B note with the right hand as well, but it can work. Try that and let me know how it goes.

  • @pianojohn113 Thanks so much bro. Ur tutorials really helped. Plus u have good taste in music ^-^

  • In the first part that repeats, what do you think about adding the 9th on the C chord right after the fill? The original piano plays that, so I'm not sure whether to play it or not.

  • @Drakethatsme You can add the 9th on the C chord (although I don't hear the D note played when I listen to it), but you need to make sure you're not playing it when you hit the B for the CMaj7 chord.

  • @pianojohn113 Ok, its just that i've seen it being taught both ways. I was just unsure what do do. Thanks a ton though, amazing tutorial!

  • You are an amazing teacher it's incredible that you're watching this for free, keep going, sharing the music with the whole world.

  • @manuelirou Glad to do it for you. :-)

  • @manuelirou to me i consider john as my my mentor/master

just like master yoda in the star wars...

    great great teacher!!!

    huge huge respect for him!!!

  • thanks for video ::)

  • thank you, this is the best imagin lesson on the net. Million thank yous and you are a great teacher.

  • did you use the foot peddle thing to hold the sound each time or no?

  • @SSDJFilms Yes, I use the pedal on each chord.

  • Thanks SOO much :)

  • Thanks dude wonderful video.

Just finished the song. Now its time to show off;)

    Thanks again!

  • thank you! I've wanted to learn this song but haven't found free sheet music for it on the internet. Then I tried to sit down and figure it out by ear, but i only got the first few chords. then i saw this video and I know how to play the whole song! I'm sure I will have it perfected in a few days! :D

    Thank you very much

  • Oh my god dude your amazing! I learned this in literally 5 min! Can you by any chance upload the sheets? Keep Up The Good Work

  • Hello, i really appreciate the video/tutorial! its a great help. I have tried playing piano (mainly synths and keyboards) since late 2006, although I have never had any training, and i mostly play by ear. 4 years later I am still a beginner and can not get the hang of it, not talented. Any advice? The only part of the video that I wish you would have spent more time is the chorus or bridge, "you may say im a dreamer..." was too fast for me, had to rewind alot the other part was a good pace

  • @brightstarlit The best advice I can offer, if you haven't already done so, is to learn chords as much as you can. Then, when you see and hear notes being played, you'll look at them as chords or broken-up chords instead of individual random notes. If you hear a C major chord, for example, you'll already know the notes that are being played, and it will make a lot more sense.

  • You're an amazing teacher! The editing was so simple but great and combined with your teaching effort it made it a breeze to learn this amazing wonder of a song!

Thank you, I've nothing but respect for you! :)

  • @DeadCowEntertainment I appreciate the comment, thanks! Very glad it worked for you.

  • please make a tutorial of "you're my fantasy by gerard kenny"

  • did anyone else sing along at the beginning of this video? c:

  • hey im 11 and ur a great u tube teacher

  • nice, have checked the other videos but i found this the closest to the original rendition, thanks for sharing.....will continue practicing the piece....

  • Do you happen to know "Bad day", not sure who it's by, Daniel something I think. :P

  • @TheJAG97 Yes, Daniel Powter.. Pretty good piano song.

  • Thanks sooo much! This is really similar to the real one, some of the other tutorials on YT are kinda inaccurate. Thanks so much again. My dad loves this song a lot. =)

  • Great video! I had NO piano experience and I was able to play it!

  • @VortexProductionsINC Yeah, me too. Thank you so much John!

  • When you learn to play it, its like riding bike.

  • What do you get when you cross an epic song with an easy, correct-sounding translation?

    A pianojohn113 tutorial

  • really congratulations, this video it's very clear and do good

  • how did you do that little left hand fill at 1:17?

  • @bsanj1025 It's just a run upward from G to Middle C, alternating Middle C with each note.

  • @pianojohn113 Cool, thanks much!

  • oops, 88 people missed the like button. thanks man this was awesome

  • I play it different because I just started :D

  • Poanojohn Great Job on John Lennon's Imagine tutorial !! Do you know I Need you by America..

  • @dianeo100 I do know it, but I don't play it too often on the piano.

  • Can you play close to you by the carpenters?

  • too bad you didnt teach it the same way you play it. ive learned the way you teach but it doesnt sound like the original on some notes. ill have to download your video and slow motion it

  • dude, speak up when you sing!!!

  • john lennon :( we miss you!

  • Where did yu find the sheet music for this song?

  • @thatcrazyhippie420 I don't have the sheet for this song, but it's available on most digital music websites and in many songbooks as well.

  • @thatcrazyhippie420 This cover is close John its was good, but I have the transcribed sheet music exactly as the recording with the fills as well, if anyone wants the sheet music subscribe and tell me your email and ill send you a copy and like this video for being the most accurate lesson on the internet, just a couple of errors rather than that great cover!

  • Great job ! I hope to learn the whole song soon.

  • I just learned this, my first piano song ever!

  • Thanks !

  • sry could be good but i cant learn in mono sry

  • fmjh

  • Could you possibly do a Jealous Guy tutorial, the few that are out there are very poor or closer to covers rather than anything? :)

  • You are my go to for piano tutorials. When I'm looking for a piano tutorial and you pop up I go "SCORE!" By far my favorite instructional videos. Not overly simplified or overly complicated. Not too slow paced not too fast. Perfect. These videos looked pretty dated though, when were they taken?

  • @mrmanseven Some of them were recorded at least four years ago on an older camera, before You Tube had better quality, so they do look dated. The newer ones, anything from the past two years, are better in quality.

  • @pianojohn113 You play EGD for the first chord of the bar, and then its EG, I have the transcribed sheet music for this song if you want some of the other notes let me know, rather than that very good cover.

  • Great tutorial, but I think it's amazing how vastly different you sound when you sing. haha

  • Very well structured.

After some minutes after the vid, I 've managed to pull it off real nice.

    Thanks A LOT <3

  • thankssss ;)

  • You're a wonderful teacher, I got this down in ten minutes. Thank you.

  • Can you do "Mother" by John Lennon? I haven't been able to find a tutorial for that song and I'm new to music, so I'm pretty much lost. :)

  • thanks again , i learnt this from just watching you play it almost , great teacher , why couldnt i have come to you for my leasons all those years ago !!!!!!

  • @pianojohn113 hmm do u know Bryan Adams "everything i do". I ll be so happy if u can help me with it. Mayby u can record any videos like " how to play Bryan Adams - everyting i do "?

  • @l1stekPiano I know the songs, but haven't tried them on the piano yet.

  • @pianojohn113 if u can do this i ll be so happy :)

  • I already knew how to play it but otherwise an extremely great job!

  • thank You SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! great teacher thank u again i made it!! i played it!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this sir! It's really appreciated.

  • It's amazing . Now, I'm trying to learn 'Whatever Gets You Thru The Night', but it's difficult ; (

  • omfg im surprised EVERY SINGLE John Lennon fan hasn't seen this video.Thank you man youre both a genious and a very big help.

  • kanye west is better

  • @trollzeroid go away troll

  • @trollzeroid sorry i think your looking for computerizedjohn113.

  • @pianojohn113 Hi John, Yes, sorry, I got this wrong, I meant a G (rather than an F) above C, and I was referring to the first part of a chord which takes place at 00.00 (the second holding down of the chord is at 01.00, but sounds different, like the regular C chord). Perhaps J.L. is playing a part of a C chord in that first half chord, or maybe he actually played a longer intro. than is present in the final recording. I'm very curious about this.
