how is it not a happy song...its an upbeat song about a guy wanting a girl to go "ramrodding" with him...i guess it can be either happy or sad, depending on music...in this case, happy.

yeah, i see what you mean. and i agree that the unrequited love thing can be super poetic. i've always felt this song is more about the chase--the fun stuff. sometimes trying to get the girl is more fun than getting her. i've always felt this song is more along those lines.

This is one of the best Bruce's Seeger trip. Even those fans who dislike his Seeger affair must love this Ramrod version. It's difficult not to become happy when you hear it.
