Theres no way in hell i would choose the Gibson 1961 Reissue over the Epiphone Limited Edition 50th Anniversary 1961 sg Reissue. The Gibson model is nothing more than overpriced Garbage. The Epiphone is a underpriced work of Art.
@EPI6fingers i have seen your comments before mate and i agree that epiphones are amazing these days, i am the proud owner of a 1960 tribute les paul with gibson hardware and it is almost as good as a gibson but really gibsons are better guitars and you are over rating epiphones a little bit ;)
Dennchooch a recent usa consumer report stated that Epiphone crafts some of the best guitars in the world. And its a shame that there very under priced.
Nice work. But heres the problem first im a Epiphone man who use to be a Gibson man. never againe thats a fact. So my issue is why is Gibson reissueing a 61 sg with 57 humbuckers in it when originaly back in 1961 they had P90's.
i have a vintage SG and it looks exactly like the gibson SG and sounds almost perfectly the same too apart from mine says 'vintage' at the top and that one says 'gibson'...
oh and 1 other difference i forgot to mention, mine cost $500, gibson costs about $2500.

@JustGuitarr Because that's the way to get the full thick sound out of it clean OR distorted. I always play with my volume knobs at 10 as well.
