The only thing I hate about the game (well technically it's not the games fault but it really bugs me) is that almost all of the servers are clan servers and I'd rather not be invovled in a clan just so I can play a game.

Just because they are clan servers doesn't mean you can't play in them. Try one of the ECO servers for instance,,

The reason all the servers look like clan servers is that all of them are hosted and paid for by clans. It doesn't mean they're dedicated totally to the clan's name in the title.

i believe the servers that you are trying to join do not have the newest version of INS..

Currently downloading this on steam... the level design looks absolutely amazing! Can't wait to give it a go. I've read about a few people saying they wish it had taken off more. I can see that maybe a few more players will get this soon, as Valve have changed the way this game appears in the download list. It's listed as "not-installed" now, on the main games list. So fingers crossed it'll get picked up by more people. Again, can't wait! Reminds me of Flashpoint meets CSS.

Xanifur...the game isn't CoD4. You're running and gunning. Plus, as an insurgent, the best way to play is to find a hiding spot and stick to it, occasionally moving around, usually after a couple kills.

Much like ArmA imo, realisticish deaths are grand in games, they get you much more aware of what's going on around instead of thinking "Oh, he/she's shooting at me.. Well, it'll be a while before they do any damage." and keep running...

I wasn't REALLY putting galo and CoD in the same league, just people always compare them (and Crysis....) to the games of realism (Insurgency/ArmA/OFP), which is rather sad...

Mmm, not quite, it feels much more realistic than SC mode (I hate non-HC servers too..), but it's still missing some aspects of realism such as bullet tradectory etc.

But really there is no 'ultimatly realistic' game/simulator out there, they all have their fall backs because they're all GAMES!

Bloody hell, you dont need either Half Life 2 or CSS or something like that, the only thing you will need is Source SDK, wich it automaticly downloads when u are finished installing the game, så you can hav no games on your steam account and still play this game online.
