Very nice. I am assuming this was shot on Super 8 film. Just wondering if it was a sound camera or you recorded the sound on a wild track and dubbed it later? Good job on the telecine.
@lolz976 First off, Who are the KCS? Second, I think the Texas State railway own the thing. Their two operational steam locomotives are a 4-6-0 and a 2-8-0. They have said that the engine is too big for them to run.
@PereMarquette1223 sorry the KCS (Kansas City Southern) is not part of Southern, i trolled myself. the southern railway merged with the N&W (norfolk and western) so if anyone were to restopre it, it would'nt be the KCS and the NS are steam killers as everyone knows
@lolz976 Ya, I don't think that KCS wants any steam anytime soon. I've heard from many sources saying that the new CEO of NS is considering reviving the steam program. I've also heard that he doesn't want anything to do with it. It's kind of all over the place right now. But the Texas State Railroad keeps #610 in good hands at their shop in Palestine, Texas. They keep it stored but it is cosmetically in good shape. If it were to run it would need new flues and a boiler as it is cracked badly.
I would like to see some one post the trip where the 610 and Southern Railway 4501 doubleheaded. Seeing anything double heading with the 610 would be sweeeeet!

why is she non-restoreable? and could the KCS fix her if they wanted to?
lolz976 1 year ago
@lolz976 I think that the reason that the owners of the engine don't want to operate it is because the engine is simply too big for operating.
PereMarquette1223 11 months ago
@PereMarquette1223 who are the owners, and again could the KCS fix her. it is part of Southern

It's too bad she won't get the chance to run again. This is such a beautiful locomotive. She will be missed. Keep rolling T&P 2-10-4 #610

@ThePete352 How do you know that? Are plans to reactivate #610 totally canceled?
