hey does anyone know how BMSR record their drums? on every record i've heard they always sound FUCKING RAD. i know they have a drummer when they play live, but do they use a Drum Machine when recording? or maybe do they record her live then put the tracks through some effects i dunno. I'm Pretty sure this isn't a drum machine, the drums definitely sound like they've been recorded live. i would suggest taking a slightly trashy sounding snare, probably a steel one, and then fitting a sm57 angled at the inside rim and backed off a bit on top. anything you want on bottom to capture that trashy wire sound. Just keep experimenting with it, who knows you'll probably end up coming up with something you like even better.
