For the colour Orange, it's Orenji. Dai dai iro is a pretty old word now and isn't often used.

Blue is aoi. Just look up the naruto shippuden opening blue bird or the Darker Than Black first ending, it clearly says aoi.

black is kuroi when talking about something being black, for example kuroi torikago (song title by kanon wakeshima, meaning black birdcage)
but if it is simply the colour black it's kuro
same with the other colours, as far as I have understood the concept =D
should be the same with words like chisai, meaning small, which becomes chisaii when for example describing a person.
But I really don't know if I got it right xD

Daidai-iro (橙色) is the Japanese name for orange. Orenji is very common though.
Daidai is a variety of bitter orange. It's often placed on top of mochi, called kagami mochi, in New Year celebrations.
