Soup Lad is trying to save the land he loves and avenging his dead ninja parents. He is back from the future, so we can assume that:

- His parents are already dead in the present

- Something goes wrong in the world he loves in the future, which he has foreseen (by going there) and is trying to prevent that from occurring

- It is the year 2984 in space spaaaace spaace SPACE spaaaaaaccceee...

If the full story is revealed, it could result in the legend of Soup Lad's past (actually in the future, though) being less mysterious. (sort-of like how the ending of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn't as good as the rest of the movie)

Yeah, that effect where the "flare" is dropped was really the most expensive visual effect of all time. Also, we had to replace the actual ninja blood with halo-style blood so the union wouldn't notice we killed so many of them.
