ahahahaha, i'm a cosmetologist, and always have pincurls in my hair, and little vintage looks. this lady did NOTTTT know what she was talking about.

those are not finger waves, that is not a vintage style, that did NOT help.

either she needed more time that 4 and a half minutes, or she just wasn't a real expert villager!

I literally found out what finger waves were about 15 minutes ago (hence looking through tuts on youtube and arriving at this vid.) And, with my 15 minutes of knowledge, I can tell you that these are NOT finger waves.

Those are actually glory rolls, and normally you do them winding them in these are 1940 to 1950's hair styling.

Finger waves are normally hard waves going down your head and are 1920's era hair styling.

Pin curls are when you curl your hair around your finger and pin them down all over your head and sleep on them.

Let me start off by saying that i think its cool what your trying to do but your interpretation is a bit off. First off all, a fingerwave are the molded curls that look 'plastered' to the head which was worn by flappers in the twenties. I think what you were trying to do was actually victory rolls from the forties even though that really wasnt how they should be done or look.
