  • what lens is that in the background.. 40-150? 70-300?

  • Wtf??? I have a e1 myself, but I never knew that it is so rock solid! Stunning! By the way, I have a vivitar makro objective with the 4-3rd adapter and it is really worth it, buy one if you have the chance to!

  • how did you dry it?

  • what kinda watch is that??

  • Sweet, I'm going to try this with my Canon!

  • My dog knocked mine down a banking over a cliff and down the 9 meter waterfall id just been taking pics of after climing down i could see something reflecting in the pool under the waterfall i took some clothes off and waded in to retreave it that all took about 15 mins and it was deep i used my toes to hook on the side strap as i didnt fancy ducking under just to get the memory card back!

Its fine ive been using it ever since fault free yeah ok the lens had to be dried out for a week!

  • wont the lens get water damage?! D:

  • lol

i wash mine using a spray bottle with distilled water each time after i go to the beach..

i only do mist spray on the camera until it got soak then wipe it ...

  • I love E-1.. still with me after broken and replaced shutter unit..

  • Friends, this wash wasn't to show off. It was done in a hotel bathroom after going through some expedition in a desert. As mentioned earlier, those fine sands was so nasty that neither blowing, dusting nor vacuuming works. Washing them was the only option. The lens is a 50-200mm.

  • Now...do this without the lens mounted nor the protective cap :) ok, I now Im being a douche...Just kidding though.

  • The lenses and body may be weatherproof, but washing the lens alone with a rear lens cap isn't a very wise move - you basically don't have the weatherproofing aspect.

  • my oly e-1 beats my e420

  • thats a e1 built for pro/hard use.. no body has to worry abt the cam.. but the lens looks like a 70-300mm which is not splash proof i guess :P

  • Colors and dynamic were better wit Olympus DSLR with Kodak sensors.

    it's worst since the e-410-510-3.

  • This is serious constrution, build like a...submarine!!!! I´ve done some shots recently with this camera just to give it a try, and i was seriously impress with the quality of the results. The colors were stunnig, and camera that can handle many types of photographic situations and deliver superior results in a wide range of settings. In my opinion, still today the E-1 out performs many others cameras with higher resolution, in terms of performance, image quality, colors, constrution. Regards

  • i think olympus colors ar the best is that right??

  • The colors from this camera are terrific, that is something that i can assure.

The focus is very fast and accurate, reliable, although this iso performance above 800 produce some noise, but usable. The prices online have droped a lot...so it's an excelent deal considering the quality of the camera. About the colors, Olympus is knowed to produce beautiful colors. I owned a Olympus E-P1 PEN, and the picture quality as well the colors are gorgeous.

    Regards

  • Yes dear friend, the colos from this particular camera are superb, outstanding. You can also say that from other olympus cameras. I´ve always loved the color out of olympus sensors.

  • Thank you if you like this video.

But for the rests who think this was an abuse, I'm sorry to say,you are wrong.

The camera went thru stormy desert with very fine grain of sand covering all corners. It was so bad that not even blowing or vacumming works. So the only way was to give it a shower.

  • Washing or showering the E1 is NOT abuse. It is a weatherproof system and this is within its built and performance specifications.

  • what's that giant viewfinder? where to buy it?

  • It's great that the camera is splash proof but what sort of nitwit intentionally subjects their gear to a shower? You should drink a gallon of water and make a video of yourself pissing all over it.

  • it should be ok if it's regular water since it will eventually dry up. Now salt water (beach) then it'll be pretty bad.

  • WTF? o_0

  • I've taken my camera (E-3) out in some SERIOUSLY tough weather conditions and it has performed perfectly as advertised. I've done this before out of necessity (grit/sand all over). There's isn't much else one can do other than carefully dismantle the camera and do a wipe down.

The weather proofing was one of 3 reasons why I chose oly over the others. (w/ 1st 2 reasons being the glass quality and 4/3rds system).

LIGHTEN UP folks.. It isn't abuse at all, IMO. Thank you ykkok for sharing!

  • That qualifies as abuse. I have an E1 and I value it far too much to ever do something so stupid. Some people know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. To do this to the best DSLP available shopuld be a crime.

  • And SO - you can wash a E-1. But who would want to abuse their camera like you. Really all you have done is show how foolish you are. I suppose if it was claimed it was drop proof, would you throw it out of a plane??? COME ON WAKE UP.

  • dont be silly. These cameras were built to survive this. If my camera was built to survive being dropped from a plane, then I would expect it to do so. However being dropped out of the plane and being put under a shower are two very different things. Its not like he took the thing scuba diving...

  • So come on. Did it actually WORK after all that water 'abuse'???

  • Thanks and yes, it's still working till today.

  • @Mrphilharmonic Of course it works,... did you ever try e-system?

  • holy shit you scared the hell out of me... beautiful camera dude.

  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!

  • oooh just great....now I have to look for a camera shampoo...tnx a lot!!:)

  • lol gunzilla :P :D

but, he washed even the lens surface O_o i don't think that's healthy for the lens

  • Wow, excellent video!

I didn't knoe that the weather seals are so perfect on E-1 :)))
