@Luthval Thank you very much Val!! I hope i find some kuthiers here in Mexico. Thanks for answering my questions :) and please keep uploading videos, i really love your music.
Thank you Luthval for responding to my question so quickly. I am a drummer by trade (15 Years) and I grow tired of playing metal and pop. I wanted to expand my musical horizon and start playing classical. You have been most helpful.
Hello, Lute is harder because of double strings, but the repertoire is probably easyer than modern music for guitar, sot we can say equal about difficulties. A good lute is around 1500-2000$ for a decent starter lute, around 5000 for concert ones. Some 400$ lutes on ebay can help but needs some setting to be playable, and are not great sounding instruments...
@Luthval Don't be so hard on yourself. That's what practicing is for. Besides you have a gorgeous tone which more than makes up for any manifest technical deficiencies.
The music is wonderful as always, I'm spoiled, I can't really listen to any other lute player. When I listen to your playing, luthval, I feel as if I'm actually inside the music. That probably doesn't make sense, I just don't know how else to describe it.
Luthval - we've just purchased a used 8 course Renaissance lute made by James North. Seeing as we're in the Connecticut, a lute instructor isn't exactly an option...do you had any suggestions for instructional books/videos?
If you could create a few instructional videos, that would be awesome...you're probably the most qualified player on YouTube.
Bravo, Sir Val !
c'est si bon!! :) magnifiquement joué valéry! vous êtes merveilleux :)

Thanks a lot.
As I'm in Europe, I don't know about luthiers in Mexico, either lute teachers, but there may be some.
Ask RomuloVG on Youtube, he is from Costa Rica.
Good luck !

Is the lute harder than the guitar to learn? And how much does one have to spend for a decent lute? Can anyone help please? Thank-you.

Thanks for the kind words, Bette ! I think there are some very good lutenists on YT to listen too ;-) Perhaps my recording material is appropriate...
Anyway I try to put my heart in the music I play.
Thanks again.

Thanks Trond... Yes it is not easy but it is a "great classical" of the lute music... Birds are bonus track (I can't avoid.. and don't want to)
