  • 2007 was the year of Robert Doornbos, he preformed Brilliantly in Champcars

  • Join my "Bring Champ Car Back" on Facebook. Search for Champ Car

  • God what crappy video. This season was broadcast HD too\

Why even waste your time, worthless...

  • Nothing compared to F1 cars.

  • Do you have the entire race video? I've been wanting to relive the glourious champcar days now that friggin indycar has taken over...

  • f'ing sucks I can't see it.I never got a chance to check out champ car....

  • champ car = american f1. isnt it?

Car's speed is the same, i think.

  • No F1 is a lot faster than champ cars. There extremely fast off course, but F1 cars are a whole other league.

  • Sabestian Bourdais broke the Laguna Seca record with a Champ Car......

  • @135678987 that means Bourdais broke that record in a DP01 champ car, beating a Toyota F1 2006 record

  • @mbas0507 wasn't Toytota just using a test Driver. Also in 2006 wasn't it Ferrari and Renault that had the fastest Machines in F1? I feel a better driver and a better team could make a faster time.

  • @179107199999 , yes, ferrari and Renault was better cars, but Toyota in L.S. was a real F1 w/ Real F1 driver, testing and puting a record in Lguna Sea in 2006 , in 2007 Bourdais beat that .. .from other point of view, of course F1 were faster than champ car, but 3.9 secs was not like " too much" and with the DP01 , they only had that opportunity to compare in Laguna Seca, now the DP01s are history..and ! ! CHAMP CAR =3300 LBS / F1 = 2.970 lbs ! BIG DIFFERENCE .

  • @mbas0507 If the driver wasn't Jarno Trulli or Ralf Schumacher then the driver had to be a tester. In 2006 They were Toyota's drivers.Personally I feel if the official drivers did the time trial things would've been different. Also if it was the other Schmacher or Fernando Alonso using their Machines then things would have been radically different.

  • @179107199999 My friend Trulli Schumi 2 ..etc the record in L.S was broken, thats history now just like the DP01 ...

  • @tiemporus a lot faster...not to much...Laguna seca record : Dp 01 champ car beat f1 record, and previuosly, the normal "distance " betwen an F1 and a Champ car in similar circuit : Montreal , was 3.9 secs F1 faster ..( Ralf Schumi (best ) against Alex Tagliani ( best )) ..those are the numbers

  • I was there lol

  • that futuristic engine sound makes me addicted.how fast do they go there? 6:35

  • i have always wanted to drive one of these

    they sound beautiful

  • I miss turbo motors..

  • I want to know what Sebastian Bourdais must be feeling after spending almost a whole season in F1.

I do wish him well, I hope he doesn't pull a Michael Andretti in 1993 and do nothing but become a gigantic headache for the team and other drivers.

Katharine Legge, she could whoop Danica's ass anyday in a race!!

  • these cars would have been much better to keep in the INDYCAR series rather than those horrible cars they drive in IRL.

  • TOTAl agree. those Panoz DP-01 were the best champcars (in engineering), and by far the most beautiful formula cars ever made, IMO.

  • I went to Laguna Seca in 1996 and fell in love with these champ cars.

Dallara really created one awfully ugly open wheel car.

If you were to see these in person, these Panoz cars have this aura about them, the sense of speed history, sexiness.

Listen to that turbocharged engine scream, that alone is worth the price of the ticket.

I don't hate IRL, i strongly dislike their product. The driver's can't drive, the cars can't run.

I loved 'Swift' Chassis NewmanHaas had in the late '90's

  • Lucky bastard!! Did you see Alex Zanardi make that move on Herta? :)

  • Couldn't agree more. Together withe Carts of around 94 and 95 these Panoz cars are stunningly beautiful.

  • PS: On the other hand in it's later days Champ Car was beginning to be almost exclusively a street circuit series. I love street circuits but I miss the mid 90's schedules were the races were pretty even between ovals, street circuits and road courses.

  • Exactly!!!

  • Nice screen name. Im a big mario andretti fan. It was great to hear him say how amazing it is when you see what he accomplished and won in the different types of racing is unheard of today.

There aren't many names i can think of that come close to what he was able to do.

  • Think about what you just said yomi.

The DP-01 isn't designed with oval safety in mind and I seriously doubt the turbo cosworth can survive the indy 500 because it wasn't designed to be ran constantly at 235mph.

Why bother with all that trouble for a 4 second faster lap? The IRL is better off refining what they already have till the 2011 turbo era

  • Even though the DP01 wasnt designed with oval safety in mind I seriously wouldnt be surprised if it was still safer than the crapwagon. Constantly at 235mph?? Ha the pole speed this year was like 224, and I'm pretty sure with a little tweaking the cosworth would be just fine.

  • well then.. if thats true then i'd be 100% behind this idea! I just dont want to see anyone get killed at these ovals.

  • AGREEDDDDDDDD!!!!!!

  • @yomi1896 i 100% agree with you

  • @notyetpro1 MAY I . ? 101 % agree....

  • bourdais ftw!

  • RIP Champ Car
