Not bad, but too much theatrical, in my personal opinion. I prefer a more natural style, closer to people instead of "audience". (I mention it just bcs it says "pure egyptian style balady")
@LoucaPorPolicias It's quite possible her own design. I know somebody who stayed with her in Cairo and went fabric shopping with Dalilah. Apparently she has the wackiest costume ideas so judging by what she's wearing I think she designed it herself, fun!
I am so tired from people comparing EVERY belly dancer with DIDEM:
First, Didem is not an Egyptian style dancer, but a typical Turkish belly-dancer, and secondly, she mainly performs drum solos , which are technical but less emotional than any other style, so it is more a comparison of styles than of dancers.
... to me she isn't...fat.....even if you did her bmi and all that shit, she is not overweight, just certain women gain weight or sometimes the skin is just a little loose at different places and some places more predominant than the rest of the body, though comments are open, it is not that necessary to say someone is fat or skinny (if they even are) cus all of us have eyes already, grow up.
@SinaJasmin I agree, and it is not only the shimmy that needs a little bit of "jiggle willing" tissue;) It might be generally difficult for skinny women to perform accentuating hip moves , I haven't seen any thin Egyptian style bellydancer worth mentioning.
very pretty dancer, loved the passion she shows as you can see she puts her heart in it. beautiful music, but the costume didn't seem to fit the style of the song. Loved everything else - awesome!
Kahina.
This dance !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love her very much!!! and i am a dancer also belive this is dance for sure let the other say what they want!!bravo !!!!!!!
I also love it when a dancer dances herself and not a copy of somebody else ! I see a very emotional dancer and that is what I like. But for dancing a baladi this dress is not suitable - I am sorry, but since you dance so authentically why do you not wear the authentic clothing for that
Hi Dinavienna, Dalila is a beautiful dancer and yes she dances in Cairo, she taught workshops at Ahlan Wa Salan 2009 and I was supposed to go to her workshop, but I was very sick that whole trip (maybe swine flu). I too think she has bits that are Randa-ish, Dina-ish but her own style which makes her GORGEOUS!!!
Very powerful stuff Dalila. Amateurs, please don't try this at home.
For those who asked. this is somehow a modified, but excellent, version of Haifa Wahby_Ya Habibi Ya 3ainy (Oh my love, the apple of my eye), more known as Shik Shak Shok, with powerful Org and Tabla talking to each other. It is called Egyptian Baladi Shik, played by Mario Kirlis Orquesta who accompnies Maiada de Argentina.
omg thats sooo amazing!!!!:-O didem dance on this song floor and its so awefull when i compare it with this beautiful dance-this is real egyptian style on beautiful music!!! does anyone has this song please???
I love it - very sensual, great buildup of tension and energy, great contrast between subtle and big movements. Baladi is such fun when its done right - I love that moment when the beat kicks in and everyone starts clapping.
baila muy bien

@linwuzhay that's why some professional dancers say a woman's shimmy reaches perfection after pregnancy (more to shake with :-))
