  • 6:40 is such a brilliant counter

  • 3:54

    5:34

  • DDP, in my opinion, was one of the most underestimated wrestlers of all time. That set up and chain of moves DDP did around 1:20 was absolutely beautiful and flawless. Miss the master of the diamond cutter.

  • That spear was scary. Look how much force Goldberg uses and how the first thing that hits the mat is his head. That Jackknife into the Diamond Cutter was nuts, I thought it was over. Growing up I always watched WWF over WCW, but I distinctly remember watching this match when they aired it the next night and it was awesome. Funny how when I was young this seemed like a long and epic battle. Now watching I can't believe it's only 10 mins. A short epic battle.

  • @AmericanWolves13 You can definitly tell that after the match, Goldberg's lights were on, but no one was home.

  • @AmericanWolves13 not jackknife, Jackhammer

  • This was one of the best matches i've seen.

  • THIS SHOULDA BEEN THE STREAK ENDING MATCH......FUCK NASH

  • 3:56 best reflex ever!!

  • WOW How hard does he hit that pole with his shoulder at 3:56 normal mans shoulder would be completey fucked

  • according to ddp, bill was almost knocked out after 5.37.

  • Good Page, made the match better.

  • this match should be in anyone's top 10 best WCW matches

  • ooosh

  • Really great match.

  • Incredible match.

  • i watched this again after the shoot he did on this... magic.

  • @linjapanese77 same here.

  • Page was actually a really good worker back here, definitely made Goldberg look good. Best Goldberg match.

  • Was That The Night Were The Fans Never Got To See The Ending Of Halloween Havoc Because Of The Pay Per View Contact Problems?

  • @miguelsandoval1985 It was. Only a small amount of people ever saw the main event, this being it. So they aired it on the next Nitro. And correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that was the last time Nitro beat RAW in the ratings war.

  • pinning him after the diamond cutter counter on the jackhammer would have been the perfect way to end the streak, not some cheap stun gun

  • @DazzerOner Dusty Rhodes tried to talk Eric Bischoff into changing the ending of the above match, but Bischoff didn't budge. Listen to PWTorch's 2 hour interview with DDP.

  • now i understand why wcw was better than wwf in 1998

  • great match

  • This is one of the greatest matches in wrestling history! Hat off to DDP but Goldberg is THE MAN!!

  • Goldberg speared the smitherines outta DDP at 5:35

  • DDP was robbed.

  • Great match, zero squash value. DDP was obviously paid to compete and lose. The jack hammer grip was written in the script.

  • @Buckeyecat2002

zero what? paid to lose? lol isnt that how wrestling matches worked since bill robinson and loju thesz? so your point is???

btw great, great match...definitely goldberg's best match by far

  • @sayanroy36 -Great typical professional sports entertainment. DDP, A name brand, top card arena draw, performs competetivly against the 800 pound gorilla of the era, Goldberg, only to lose, like avery other wrestler, up until Booker T, via some assistance. You know the game, Brother.

  • @Buckeyecat2002 stfu and watch the match

  • Del rio stole the arm breaker but unlike Goldberg he has no other finisher

  • Bill Goldberg should never have left. He was awesome

  • wow.. at 0:37.. it was like ddp ran into a brick wall. Goldberg didnt even budge.

  • if streak was goin down dis ppv woulda been great not lame way at starcade

  • thumbs up if the rise & fall of wcw brought you here

  • this is from part 1, yeah and alberto del rio stole goldbergs cross arm breaker applied at the first of the match....everyone has an opinion, but someone has to pave the way

  • Alot of people are saying Kevin Nash shouldnt have broken the streak but who better than one of the most hated heels at that time. I certainly wouldnt want Hogan or Hall to do it or a second rate NWO member. This match was great because DDP is such a great preformer. LANDING THE GREATEST DIAMOND CUTTER OF ALL TIME.

  • Comment removed

  • That was an amazing match. Both of these guys did an awesome job

  • Definitely DDP should have been the one to end goldberg streak...the streak should not have ended tht way at all.

  • I agree this should have been the match to end Goldberg's streak. Don't get me wrong....Goldberg for President, but the way they had the streak end was on some bull-ish!!

  • wow .. what an awesome match indeed .. it was fantastic

  • Great match. The only two people I would've accepted ending the streak would've been DDP with this match, or Sting. No one else. Especially not Kevin Nash.

  • @clinton62901 i felt as if sting should have had the title shot that night and ended it but i couldn't agree more with Kevin Nash

  • @clinton62901 Chris Benoit or Bret Hart I will say

  • bottom line bischoff sent wcw to the hospital russo pulled the plug....

  • @jaecourt Na, AOL Time warner ruined everything. If Bischoff still had the support WCW would probably still be around today.

  • Has wrestling even seen a bigger Jew battle..i think not YAWN

  • @raider101416 - Who cares if they're Jews or not? They were successful at what was then the highest level of wrestling. Your "yawn" comment is pointless and meaningless. It's overused anyway.

  • THIS MATCH MADE DDP BIGGER THAN HE ALREADY WAS

  • WHAT 6 MORONS DIDNT LIKE THIS. THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST GANGSTA MATCHES THAT MOST OF THE WORLD DIDN'T SEE

  • ddp > goldberg

  • 6:35 and on.

    That is all.

  • That was such an epic Diamond Cutter the ref was pulling his hair out in shock! LOL

  • they blew it after the diamond cutter spot. Page should have rolled over for the pin right after the cutter, not 15 seconds later. It would have been much more suspensfull. No one was buying a pin on goldberg 15 seconds after the finishing move. It's the little things like this that made wwe win the ratings war...

  • @toadman842 Yeah, DDP played that a little too long. Although I think the idea was, to make DDP's cutter not look too weak and to give Goldberg recovery time for the kickout. If WCW did stuff like this on every PPV (and actually shown it to the paying audience, lol) then they'd still be in business now. It was the fingerpokes of doom, bookers winning the Title and putting it on David Arquette that ruined it. I was always a WCW man, but it was so jumbled in those last 2 years man, hard to watch!

  • 3:50 this just shows me that DDP can take a better kick than Bret Hart lls

  • i love this match because goldberg manhandle the douche bag like a rag doll...ddp couldnt manhandle his drinking problem which manhandle his career! FUCK DDP

  • Didn't this match go over their PPV contract and get cut off air early?

  • I used to call GB the "Wresting Cyborg"

Yes, he's "human" but it takes so much to wear him down to PIN him. What always impressed me about Goldberg is that he had BRUT Strength & Endurance to go with INTELLIGENCE.

U NEVER knew WHAT he was "thinking" only that he was several moves AHEAD of his opponent.

DDP just didn't have the SIZE to deal with Goldberg for the long time it takes to WEAR him DOWN.

    GREAT MATCH !

  • You see how tha crowd went nuts when ddp hit em wit tha diamond cutter?? Same when goldberg hit em wit tha jackhammer.THIS WAS WRESTLING at its best. This shit sucks now.I was a kid then and i grew up on these matches.WCW was the best thing @ this time. NWO,Goldberg, cruiserweights,it was tha shit

  • ALMOST EVERY SINGLE GOLDBERG MATCH HAS GOLDBERG RUNNING AND HITTING HIS ARM ON THE POST. IT IS FUCKING REPETITIVE CANT THEY DECIDE TO INJURE GB BY HITTING HIS ARM, LEG, BACK INSTEAD OF HIS SHOULDER. THAT SHOULDER ......BY NOW...... SHOULD BE PARALYZED

  • I think everyone watching this had an orgasm at 6:44

  • This is why goldberg sucked. No-seller, wouldn't lose when he should have.

  • @bigpoppa1234 Not his fault. He was in his first year of wrestling and had no control of the storylines. He didn't care a lick about his record because it really meant nothing. He just didn't want Nash to book himself to end it.

  • what a match, what a crowd, man i miss wcw!

  • look at the reaction after he hit the diamond cutter....fans arent passionate like that anymore...seeing as most of the fans in the crowd are lil kids teenage girls and soccer moms who couldnt tell you the difference between a german suplex or a northern light suplex but think cena is the greatest wrestler ever smh

  • @DETROIT2MILWAUKEE there's no passion because the same finishes are recycled over and over and over again. its so predictable. kids are the only ppl left that are stupid enough to believe the same story everytime. whatever pays the bills i guess

  • Great match.

  • I watch match because DDP really did a good job here. This match was good and GOLDBERG didnt sell the moves because they were going for this unstoppable monster.

Any DDP landed the best DIAMOND CUTTER in the history of wrestling in this match. It still gets me excited to see it.

  • See this is the wrestling I loved..

  • Da 2 most respected men of wcw dat I will neva eva 4get.

  • goldberg gave respect his fellow men who wasnt in the nwo

  • Even the ref was blown away, that's how fucking awesome that counter was.

  • Wow! What a great match!! Wonderful preformance from both men!!

  • @Jontish316 besides the lack of goldbergs selling one of my favs

  • @ChadTheWrestleManiac Actually, i've seen a lot of people complaining about Goldbergs no-sells. But weren't he pushed as "unstopable" at the time? And besides, he was down until he was covered, it's not like he took the DC and just stood up.

  • @Jontish316 i agree his gimmick was this monster! but still and little sell here and their wont hurt like at 3:43 i completley forgot what that move is called but just watch!

  • @ChadTheWrestleManiac Hmm, yeah, i totally get what you mean.

  • 6:40 magic

  • i remember watching this match back then i was goin crazy when ddp pulled that diamond cutter u see that pop from the crowd u dont get that no more!!

  • best title defense goldberg ever done

  • theee best main event ppv match wcw ever had in my opinion

  • DDP should have won this.. Kevin Nash breaking Goldbergs win streak from Scott Hall tazing him was a bad way to end such an epic streak.. A legit match from an underdog like page would've been way better

  • @SubjectRuled Yeah! It should have been a series of more holds and counterholds and some suplex attempts, that would have been epic!

  • @SubjectRuled I totally agree. Goldberg has said that he felt Nash booked himself to win because of his ego and that it just killed the Goldberg character which in essence killed WCW. If DDP had won this and he had become a on par with the superstars insyead of a crowd favorite I wonder if this would've helped the company tremendously. Goldberg felt that Nash booking himself to win and end the streak followed by the fingerpoke of doom killed the company.

  • @joekoe97 The FingerPoke of Doom happened in December?...Nash didnt start booking untill Feb

  • @Thebadguy1987 Are you 100% on that? I've heard multiple people say he booked himself to win this.

  • @joekoe97 I'll look it up and send you a link...Im 100% Ppl always have said that..he may have had some input on the matter but is is cold hard fact that he wasn not on the booking commitee yet when the match took place!!!

  • @Thebadguy1987 I could've misunderstood Goldberg. He did allude to the fact that Bischoff played favorites with Nash on several occassions.

  • @SubjectRuled Yeah, WCW even managed to screw up the best thing they did in 98. Instead of giving away Hogan-Goldberg and Hogan-Sting on Nitro they should have put them on PPV and ridden Goldberg's popularity into 99.

  • @tharock220 Yeah Bisch was so concerned with winning a fucking ratings war, he just gave away WCW's most lucrative match to date on free television. Bischoff had a lot of great ideas, but that certainly was not one of them!

  • @SubjectRuled They did well in making DDP the person who has pushed Goldberg the fartheset so far. The streak should have kept on going for another year

  • @SubjectRuled i totally agree. much better wrestling performance in this match than as opposed to the Starrcade Match. I think Goldberg had way more talent than they let him unleash i.e. UFC

  • @SubjectRuled no way man at the time everyone loved goldberg i liked ddp too but i wanted goldberg to win and kevin nash shouldnt have ended the streak i think it wouldve been better if goldbergs streak went all the way up to the end of wcw.

  • @SubjectRuled i thought nashs win was cool and it made goldberg look strong still since he got tazed and took a jacknife

  • GOOD MATCH!! GOLDBERG WAS TESTED!

  • @Torokothefox They'll bring it like ECW ! WCW had so much potential!!! Vince should bring it back and give it to a silent business partner!?

  • DDP is the man.

  • i can watch wcw stuff for hours

  • lmao this video goes to 9:11 like the 9:11 plane crash lol

  • Goldberg Is Great & I Like Goldberg

  • @shajibahmed88

I am guessing you like Goldberg

  • best match i think ive ever seen goldberg in

  • DDP should of definitely been the one to end Goldberg undefeated streak, DDP would out wrestle Nash any day. But too bad WCW didn't look at talent as much as they did money.

  • that was goldbergs greatest match. ddp is the shit

  • Just like big heavyweight boxing matches, wrestling has become just a thing of the past, these were great times, now ruined my money hungry a- holes like don king and vince mcman

  • i know what people mean when the match should have ended with ddp countered the jackhammer. that would have been one of the sweetest of endings with the fan reaction and all. i remember when i first saw this on paperview man what a match. seeing this again, the fan reaction to the diamond cutter reminded me a lot of when hogan nearly beat the rock at wrestlemania 18.

  • @ArmandtheWise i do think that ddp should've been the one to end goldberg's streak (fuck kevin nash!) but not at this time - not even at starrcade 1998. maybe starrcade 1999.

  • 6:44 the best part of the whole match......This was DDP's all the way. Sux he lost. But everybody right what the hell happen to wrestling???

  • This was Goldbergs best match ever>

  • @brianjmal I just said the same thing

  • FUKKIN classic

  • DDP shoulda ended the streak, either him or a new young star, not Kevin Booker Nash

  • @ROosthakid sting should of done it too

  • It puts TEARS in your eyes how good this match was!!

  • DDP reminds me of Brian Pillman

even same attitude kinda, well Pillman is of course better and more psycho

  • @superstarmooni

What do you mean better? If youre comparing their in-ring work, that's a little ridiculous. They're too different sized wrestlers. You can't compare DDP to BP anymore than you could DDP to UT. DDP is a foot taller than BP so DDP was much more a brawler/grappler whereas BP was more of a flyer/striker. Promowise, Pillman may have been "more psycho" but he used knives/guns, cursed at the crowd, and said much more profane stuff which IMO is kind of a lame way to get heat/over.

  • is goldberg human?

  • @ZooHD god no! lol, he is a beast

  • ah is the PPV that got cut off when it came to this match??

  • @Sabin06 yep

  • that match told a story

  • tna is the best wrestling right now

  • Great match!!! Too bad Wcw mad $0 for this pay per view

  • @SuperMoneyman90 how come they made no money?

  • I can watch this over and over again

  • The jackhammer, he just wills DDP up, ddp didnt even get to jump or help out just straight power

  • John Cena could beat Goldberg and DDP in a 2v1 handicap match.

  • @shizeninho Go eat your ice cream your 10 year old fatty!

  • @OMGwhereismycupcake Icecream would be great, by the way, you really need to learn how to form a proper sentence.

  • @shizeninho Gotta love the icecream!

  • @OMGwhereismycupcake Cena can barely beat anyone he steps into the ring with there is no domination at all like Goldberg! You must be a kid..

  • @shizeninho are you belive it ?????

  • @shizeninho Goldberg would destroy Cena easily. Cena is a chump. He's only successful because all the great wrestlers have retired and vince mcmahon is trying to replace the greats with him. He's just an entertainer, not a true wrestler

  • @allmightyjosh85 Most true top stars are better entertainers than technical wrestlers. Hulk hogan, ultimate warrior, mick foley, the rock, none of those guys are amature wrestlers but drew more than anybody.

  • GREAT crowd!

  • WCW Rules!!!!!!!

  • wcw ROCKED!!!! that was a real match, fuckin awsome

  • good, good match.

  • 155-0

  • goldberg charging the ring post. most overused match feature ever...

  • Page showed for this match no doubt about it.

Vince isnt killing wrestling, the lack of true talent is whats killing wrestling, and the fans are helping kill wrestling because fans cheer people like Cena.

  • Even though we all knew deep down that Goldberg was gonna win,the crowd reaction to DDP's jackhammer counter sez it all.

  • @The95thRifles The only thing that could have made that any better, is if Goldberg would have waited till the very last possible sec to kick out.

  • "Holy smokes!" - vintage Schiavone

  • goldbergs streak should ended wen he went against sting on monday night nitro sting had em beat nd bitch ass hogan ruined it 4 sting

  • @mwvr44

Hogan had to for his on agenda.

Hogan didnt want to be in 3rd place under Goldberg and Sting.

Sting being original WCW ist hard to understand how Sting had very little say and political power

  • HOLY SHIT! what a pop at 6:45

one of my favourite wcw matches ever. wish wwe was like this

  • Who the hell disliked this?!

  • @armoogam

    A Cena fan.

  • that RKO... i mean Diamond Cutter couldve have gone any better. Wrestling of the 90's... miss it.

  • man that spear hurt me! this is by far 1 of the greatest matches ever.. these 2 put on a hell of a show

  • @VaginaIIVIIite

You think this is great, find:

STING vs PAGE (Nitro, I think)

    STING vs GOLDBERG

STING vs HOGAN (the rematch on Nitro, the original was crap)

DDP vs EDDIE GUERRERO (I know I spelled it wrong...Anyway, THUNDER)

  • I'm just watching old vids of wrestling from the 80s to 2005. This is all I got unless sumthin good happens.

  • damn...ddp lost...but that was sportsmanchip

  • i think its kind of sad that when i look back on the monday night war days almost every match i found memorable include DDP. he DEFINITELY should have won this match after the dues he paid the previous year, not to mention the staleness of the NWO at this time

  • I don't think DDP deserves to win it at this time. He should have won it in Starrcade instead of Kevin Nash. Tasing Goldberg and giving the title to Nash was the start of the downfall of WCW. They could have built two homegrown superstars in Goldberg and DDP, instead we saw the nWo reunite again which also lead to the Fingerpoke of Doom.

  • good match

  • great match. That bill goldberg sure is pretty damn athletic

  • Everytime time I watch this match I always get excited when DDP hits Goldberg with the DIAMOND cutter. It always is exciting

Its the most exciting part of this match.

  • The good sportsmanship at the end was cool. Really cool.

  • heard that pop

  • funny how things work out, isnt it? DDP, not the best ever, goldberg the same, but put them together and they produce a classic like this. same with hogan and warrior at wrestlemania.

  • page was the man and that diamond cutter should have finished goldberg off.

  • goldberg is the best ever live

  • I remember when DDP hit the Diamond Cutter on goldberg my heart jump and jumped off couch with excitement.

This was of course back before wrestling practically died.

  • same here i was cheering loud as hell
