@xoquixxoqafxo I KNOW! the 4 speed auto is the biggest pile of crap. 1). sucks for acceleration, 2). sucks for fuel economy. 2800RPMS at 75?? give me an economy 5th gear and i guarantee this thing would get 37 mpg highway.
@burninrock24 my maxima had a 5 speed and would run 2300rpm @ 60, the same maxima with the 4spd auto would run under 2K, my durango has a 4 speed and runs 2000 rpms @ 75, normally the longer gearing in the 4 speed makes up for mileage.. unless the 5 speed is not geared for acceleration
... what happended did you try to launch it and just floor it instead of goosein the throttle? because i know that i can go faster than that in my 2000 i30 which doesnt make sense cus u got a power boost over me
its more like 7.3 with a stop watch, if you would have feathered it off of the line it would probably have been a lot faster without all the wheel spin
@clarda1 oh my god your so dumb wheel spins give you horsepower boost because your raise your valve up and it is like an electric charge to your alternator which charges your battery which makes it so your car is being powered by the electric battery which is faster then the engine. and then it heats up your seat which makes it less dense and lighter so it also makes your car faster and lighter.
You turn the traction control off? I've got the same car, same year. Mine never spins like that.

@Eville502
Yeah, traction control off.

god that 4 spd auto really slow this car down. The first shift into second completely knocked the engine from the meat of its powerband.

I know, its crazy how automakers used 4 speed autos for soo long. In fact, I can't stand how some manufactures still use it *cough* Toyota!
