Whitney, may you rest in peace now and forever. You are safe now and are surrounded by gods angels in Heaven. You will no longer need a bodyguard. Your life with us was bittersweet, all we have now are the memories you gave us when you were with us. Whitney, We will always love you.........
THE INDIVISIBLE MANUFACTURE—One day before her death, from the hotel room adjacent to the shit-house where she crapped out, a hopped-up Whitney Houston rehearsed “I Will Always Love You.” She held closely to her danglers a purse that contained vital tools & contaminants. On the nightstand was an autographed portrait of Grover Cleveland.
The very fact that you are not honest enough to even be willing to give the person who was the top selling female singer in the world and who's soundtrack "The Bodyguard" has sold more copies than any other film soundtrack in history credit for being an artist says that your opinion is worthless.
RIP WHITNEY. YOU WERE A GREAT PERSON AND HAD A HUGE HEART.! ONE HEART THAT HOLLYWOOD NEVER DID GET A CHANCE TO HARDEN.. IM SURE HEAVEN IS GLAD THEY GOT THEIR LEAD VOCALIST BACK IN THE CHOIR. WHY WE ARE MISSING YOU CAUSE YOUR GONE. THEY ARE PROBABLY HAPPY YOUR BACK.. IM PRAYING FOR THE PEACE OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY..
IM NOT HIM SO ONLY HE WOULD KNOW. BUT WHEN YOU HOLD A SECRET AND WANT TO SAY THINGS BUT KNOW YOU CANT, BUT YOUR FEELING IT ON THE INSIDE. I SEEN THAT LOOK IN HIS FACE AND EYES..
I think he loves her still. I could see the distress on face at times when he spoke at her funeral. They would have been a beautiful couple with drop dead gorgeous children. Had she chose him she probably would still be with us because he would have put a stop to the nuisance.........I'm so heart broken.
@carolynpattie It really does look as if he truly loved her, but I'm a romantic person at heart. Her death certainly did affect him emotionally. I don't even want to think too much about what might have been. That's just too painful in light of how things turned out. Sad.
@msmithstud Where did you get that dumb story from? True, it was written in the seventies, but it was not written for any particular actors in mind--and certainly NOT for a white actor and a black actress. (The ink on the Mildren and Richard Loving Supreme Court Decision had barely dried yet.) Even in 1992, Kevin Costner's choice was met with resistance and anxiety.
@msmithstud "Lawrence Kasdan originally wrote his script for The Bodyguard in the late 1960s as a vehicle for Steve McQueen; by the time it reached the screen, Kasdan's star was another movie hearthrob, Kevin Costner."
(Source: Movies)
In a promotional interview and during Ms. Houston's funeral service, Costner said that when he proposed Houston, everyone else in the room thought she was a highly questionable choice because she lacked acting experience and was a black woman.
@msmithstud Well, it turns out that the Wikipedia entry is wrong.
I just watched an interview here titled Kevin Costner on The Bodyguard. In it, Costner says Steve McQueen and Barbara Streisand were the two people cast years earlier.
@ohsnapiam59 Forgive me, but I am an infinitely curious person. If you don't mind, reference where I "jump(ed) down this person's throat."
In point of fact, I did use Google, but selected a different source--as noted below the quote. My second paragraph indicates that my source is consistent with what Mr. Costner said on more than one occasion
Sources are often not in agreement. The question is--which one is accurate? Do you have a definitive source?
@ohsnapiam59 I saw that wikipedia entry also. But if it is accurate, why would the casting team have been so troubled by Kevin Costner's choice? Their biggest concern seems to have been the fact that Whitney Houston was black. We can see Costner made the right call, but was Rachel a black superstar in the original script? If so, then the casting team must have assumed that would have to be changed, and Costner was rocking the boat (which he does seem to have a special talent for).
@614Griswald Maybe it was a different casting team. And I don't ever think it got beyond the 'talking' stage. But I heard that from interviews not just Wikipedia.
@ohsnapiam59 Presumably, it would not have been the same casting team--but that is irrelevant. If a 90s team hadn't originally consider that, would a 70s team have?
My point: Tthe entry in Wikipedia may be inaccurate. That certainly does happen. The part about Diana Ross is inconsistent with what Costner has said, and given the time frame (late 60s early 70s) that seems highly improbable. Originally, the focus was to be on the bodyguard--hence the title, not the romance.
@ohsnapiam59 At any rate, the chemistry between Costner and Houston was so strong on screen that most people probably remember it primarily as a romance, rather than the other way around. In terms of box office sales, this is one of the most successful films in motion picture history.
@ohsnapiam59 I just watched an interview here titled Kevin Costner on The Bodyguard. In it, Costner says that Steve McQueen and Barbara Streisand were the two people cast years earlier.

They really should've got together, a nurturing and positive relationship/romance.
And if they had children they would've been beautiful.
The last scene of the movie was possibly more than just a screenplay. Two people who really love each other parting ways. This scene always brought tears, and even more now.
This will alway have a place in my heart... I thought they were perfect for eachother... I aways often wonder What if? What if Kevin always loved Whitney but never told her... R.i.P
@dalotel Bitch, exactly what is you problem? You sure as hell are focused on this black woman. It was only a movie, but you obviously feel that she was a threat. You're not fooling anyone.
Im a huge fan off Whitney, i grew up with her music, i love her and her mother, i named my 2 cats Whitney & Cissy after them, but i hate that day she met Brown. Whitney, WE ALWAYS LOVE YOU, OUR SHINING STAR Xx Please light a candlle saturday for Whitney, wherever you are, she 's always in our heart !! Now and forever! LOVE YOU
More so now that Whitney is gone, it completely irks me to no end that Mr. very WRONG and BAD latched onto her and wouldn't let go of her until Whitney's family finally intervened. Apparently, it was already too late by then.
I truly hope there is a special place on the other side, reserved just for people like Bobby Brown.
@prt61370 Well, you have to understand her perspective. Frank has already resigned, so Rachel has every reason to believe she will never see him again, and--aside from this final encounter--that is the way he wanted it to be, or so it seemed at first.
Obviously, the guy is very good at everything he does. And he is handsome and witty, as well--so, of course, she is in love. Still, you can't hold onto a man who doesn't really want to stay.
RIP Whitney and I truly mean that...but I am disturbed by the crocodile tears of the hollywood masses whom the day before her death would not have taken her fucking phone call if she had of rang them. A great voice of a generation gone too soon and not entirely unexpected but still will be missed.
The jury is still out of the message as to whether or not drugs, prescription or otherwise, were involved but my personal opinion is that her previous excesses have caught up with her.
@LadyJoker160 Little-Miss-Rude 21-year-old? Who are you to ask such a question? That is none of your business, just as it is none of mine. Kevin Costner in under no obligation to make, nor would he be expected to make, a public statement.

You are VERY SPECIAL! SAD! Wish you were here to really know how much you are really Loved!Natural Beautiful Voice & Person Shocking Very SAD!! R.I.P. Whitney Always Love you!!! Thoughts & Prayers to your family
VERY Beautiful lady FAB voice Love you Sweet Angel in Heaven !!!
Kevin Costner is the one who wanted the song written by Dolly Parton to be sung by Whitney Houston. He convinced Whitney to sing it "a capella" for the movie. Whitney's rendition became so good Dolly conceded that the song became Whitney's not hers. Kevin Costner was so insistent that Whitney Houston and no other black singer/actress play the part that the film production waited 1 year for Whitney to be available to film. THANK YOU Kevin Costner.
Wow, I loved this movie. It was time when Kevin Costner was cool and Whitney was singing one great song after another. I hate something I never tried myself and that is drugs. RIP Whitney.
Rest In Peace Whitney Houston. You will be missed by all of us. But at least you left behind your music for the rest of us to continue enjoying. Thank you.

Kevin Costner is Whitney Houston's bodyguard protecting her from Bobby Brown. Think about that one.
