@ExtremeAcres If you get a Chinese copy engine, just put a Walbro carb and change the top-end for a TL or John Deere version top-end and you'll have power.
@androiduser1 ... a large spindle on the engine will give you more top speed....... a small Spindle on the engine will give quicker acceleration (but less top speed) Mine are direct drive (which means spindle on tire is what drives it ....opposed to chain and sprockets)
go to ebay an search for star-fire motors an there you see what engine they have for bicycle an how much! is about 50cc - 80cc 130-140$ ! they sell the engine with all the tools you need! i am sorry for my bad english XD !
nice.... I just installed my 40cc Tanaka on a Golden Eagle bike kit.... the thing flies. I guess it takes about a 1000 miles to break it in. Its good for over 30mph. Doesn't use friction, its a belt drive... bikeengines dot com..........
then why are you doing searches to watch them on youtube ? Cause you wish you had One Instead of that overweight, Oversuspended,KonaCrap...Bwahahaha ;)
@ExtremeAcres Hey now dont be dissin kona, id say the jealous ones are riding huffy. mt storms. i run an engine on my trek 4500, also have a kona as well. is in line for a build in the near future
@yamahonkawazuki ...yeah ...sorry bout that ...I wasnt really dissin Kona... I was just trying to e-bitchslap that other poster...LOL... I know Kona Make killer machines.
....I need to get these back together... I havent ridden my motorized bikes in years... been too busy with other goofy stuff.
@ExtremeAcres Im sure they make SOME that are kinda Meh, and some killer. i dont see many if ANY coming out of the huffy camp that are good. well, i digress, as a casual rider a huffy maybe okay, BUT for motorised i wont do it. BUT on another note im being paid, and paid well to install an engine, on an old huffy cruiser lol
Did you do the installation yourself or did dimension edge do it? If you did it yourself how easy was the installation on do you like the kit and is the quality good?
yes, it's dimension edge system..(I have a couple of them)..mitsubishi encore engine...I've installed them myself on a couple different bikes. great systems.
are you sure its goes 45mph?? thats a little fast for a 40cc, i mean, my friend has an ns50 thats a liquid cooled 12000 rpm redline 50cc and thats its top speed with 6 gears
yeah...a nsr50 or ysr50 or anything of the likes is Way heavier than a bicycle...and meant to go many miles...this bike and tires wouldn't last 1000's of street miles... and yes 45 mph was the top speed I've recorded...with the tallest gearing and a slight downhill assist...but the bike felt unstable at that speed the wheels and frame was flexin'...it was eerie...it cruises at 30 to 35 pretty easily on flat ground. and the frame and wheels and tires etc. feels stable.
also...it's a give and take with the bicycle ...when I gear it tall for the street...I cant engage the engine under like 12 or 14 mph...it's too tall for the driveway...in this video it's geared to top out at 25 or 30..and i can engage the clutch at 7 or 8 mph .
i've only got a 26cc :(

Good ear kip...it has a clutch...on the handlebars...I have to disengage to skid or ride real slow , so it doesn't stall.
ExtremeAcres 5 years ago
Cool, are you sure that is only 48cc. It looks a lot faster to me.
