have you tried playing the main riff in fret 1-4 only? i think it's more convenient and it made me improve my muting technique a little as well as lose the gap when moving down/up the neck for that one note. oh and i think the verse and bridge need a little more muting to get the almost percussive attack sound. but your precision and technique in general seems to be damn good though, at least much better than mine.

It's a Fender '72 Telecaster Deluxe, but it's customized like Deryck's.
