Evan Lysacek, Brian Joubert, Rachel Flatt, Jeffrey Buttle, Caroline Kostner, Sasha Cohen and Patrick Chan have also came to my club...we get a lot of famous figure skaters come to my club to practice.....IT'S AWESOME!!

Great personality!!! Watch him now on DWTS (Dancing With The Stars)!!!

@mariarules11 well actually the reason a lot of famous figure skaters come to my rink is because my coach knows a lot of them. He's a national champion and well known by other famous coaches like Kurt Hamilition, Lori Nichol (srry bad spelling), etc. So them come to the rink to practice. LOL try taking skating lesson, its a ton of fun I did that when I was like 7 yrs old and now im 14 and I'm a competitive figure skater in Ontario, Canada.

It's weird, North America is kind of the only place where figure skating has such stigma around it, in terms of male sexuality. in other countries, the association with FS and gayness isn't so central. So you'd be surprised to know the majority of male figure skaters are probably straight. And of course, just like any other sport, there are gay athletes (although, unfortunately, with few 'out' gay athletes)

I read an article on makeup and men, that it's more accepted in Europe and Asia as well, for these reasons...pretty interesting. It's honestly really unfortunate. Generally men who figure skate in Europe are big studs who aren't gay...it's usually when you get over in to North America you find more gay male figure skaters. That's not all the time, but usually.
