  • Cool

  • Your neighbors must love you. It look like you fired it in the early morning? I woulda shit my sheets if I heard that go off. Awesome job btw.

  • What's that really fine-looking pale-colored powder you dust the barrel with before ramming?

  • @radiootoo

    Hi

I bought the " Foundry Parting Dust" at Budget casting supply I think you can use talc

    Regards RH

  • jasus, I wish I could mold that fast, the end bit's the best though firing it!!! did you put a wad or anything down the barrel apart from black powder?? also what did you use for the fuse??? thanx.

  • I put some paper in the barrel, I used fierwork fuse ..

  • @haraldseide thanks for the reply haraldseide definately one to have a go at!!!

  • Nice work... but why didnt you just make a split pattern for the mold?? Then you wouldnt have to make such a careful impression for the drag.. Split the mold down the middle, and hold it together with dowel pins when its time to form the cope... and sleeves between the back two ridges would be fine for drilling the barrel in a lathe ... kinda tedious but its accurate

  • thanks . It works to do it the hard way to :-) I drild it in my swedis super dril press to have some control on the torq I acual unwined a cheep dril bit like the one i have in my lathe ... 7.5hk is a lot of power....

  • i love cannons I have 3 brass ones, they are supposed to be for desk sets but a little work and they are okay to fire! although minee arn't as awewsome or big as your cannon they still kick butt!!

  • It actually works, ha ha ha. I didnt expect that, this is brilliant!!!!!

  • thanks! :-) its not a signal cannon without the signal :-)

  • Sweet project!!! very impressive. How much fuel do you burn to run the foundry for an hour?

  • Excellent work, flawless in fact! I am very impressed at the quality of the surface finish, nicely done. I was going to jokingly ask if it really fires, guess I don't have to!

  • Well done. Good to see the finished item after the casting . You sure work fast at ramming the sand!
