Dream on,When ifirst started to go to pubs in 1976 i remember the outcry when the chancellor raised the price to 33p,and we used to joke that a pint will soon cost a pound,That was so unimaginable it was like Monty Python,s "Four Yorkshiremen"
I always remember one of the first Only Fools and Horses episodes where Del buy a scotch and a pint for 98p and pays with a pound note lol. Always sticks in my mind....quite charming in a sweet way - good old days init.
"Can I have some drinks for the kids?"
"yes, what'll it be? Orange? Coca-cola?"
"5 pints of bitter, please!"

How can the Landlord (Arthur) ditch a pint when Moxey had already paid for it?
I wouldn't stand for that.
Didn't even get his money back!

the lads reaction when they see old pringle on the video and also when he asks the girl to call him tiger are both priceless

Ah the days when a pint only cost 89p... those were the days, now-a-days it takes a tenner to get a small round in! >:(

87p!!! You can get a pint for 99p still!
randypan71 3 years ago
That was quite expensive for 1986. When i bought my first pint, in 1988, it cost 85p!
But yes, wetherspoons Greene King for 99p in 2009 is quite impressive, its a beer you can quaff all afternoon too!

I can well believe it. £3.20 a pint of stella in a pub near me, and people wonder why all the pubs are closing.
