  • Very well done, thanks! I enjoyed the humor :)

  • Lol; My dog however... is not

  • Golden Mean:

1+ Square Root of 5; divided by 2

    -God's Number = 152 (reverse english)

    -152nd Day = 6/1 (jun 1)

    -God = 61 (Jewish Gematria)

    -min/hr hand at 6/1 (6:05)

    -6/5 (jun 5) = 156th Day

    -156 seconds = 2.6 minutes

    -God = 26 (english)

  • Douchebag! Nobody throws away their dog like an old or abandoned toy and gets away with it!

  • great vid

  • I bet it was said by others earlier, but it's really wonderful to see that your municipality recycles puppies. If only we all lived in such progressive place...

  • Lawl leonardo Davinci drew the "Perfect penis"

  • "And totally rock out"

by the way, this music in no way pleases me. It's creepy. Just thought I'd tell you that.

  • Is a golden shower a golden ratio? I also would like to note that a dick and balls exemplifies a golden ratio. I wrote a proof of this which I can post if any would like.

  • what's the important point about golden ratio?

  • love this video, very formative, love your examples. I need to write a report about the golden ratio... this was helpful. thank you!

  • Fascinating video, one of my favourites on youtube! Thank you very much for sharing it with everyone.

  • actually, your dog is, just measure the joint segments of it's legs

  • What is the song in the backround called

  • Get lost in the details.

  • Nice clear explaination, very cute dog :-) ... the hunt for a tape measure begins!

  • Feel free to watch my video - String Quartet "Shreds of sleep". I created this piece thanks golden and silver ration between frequences of sounds. You find this in "Video responses".

  • @kompozer86 Cool! Thanks! I like it... sounds like good film music... I probably won't add it to my workout mix though :)

  • @bricke321 Great! But film music is rather using as background. This is autonomic composition. But you guess well - in fact this is autobiographical music :)

My brief comment from program of concert:

  • @bricke321 Composition ''Shreds of sleep'' (Strzępy snu) is located between dream and consciousness. A feeling of necessity of action clashes with oneiric world of sleep. Finally it becomes an obsession.

  • Technique aspects are focused on multivariate analysis and processing of 6-sounds theme. I used gold and silver ratio between pitches. I always work on pure frequencies, before I start writing. In addition, in the middle part of this particular work, I transformed a melody by connecting each pair of sounds, and make chords with sums of their frequency.

  • so what if phi know the golden ratio LOL hahahahaha

  • My dog isn't a golden ratio either, how strange?

  • @KingFate20 not strange....rufférough its rough its ruff..bark bark bark bark. but i bet it pees in a golden ratio thats my toilet bowl humor sorry bout that but what if phi !!! LOL

  • @daelohmen Uh... 'phido' haha dog humor. (if you dont get it, fido is sometimes used to refer to dogs.)

  • "Very Nearly",

    "Roughly Speaking",

    "Approximately"...

You can't claim to have completed a Jigsaw by using brute-force and glue to get the pieces to fit - And you can't claim that these 'Golden Ratios' are somehow miraculously prevalent in nature by shaving off, or adding on a couple of standard deviations.

As Humans, we are 'hard-wired' to find patterns in everything!

So maybe let's not deliberately go chasing after these coincidences, however mesmerising...!

  • so what is NOT the golden ratio then?

  • Thee Hell?

  • ...........what! O_o

  • that is a creepy song O__o

  • 123.Blessed are those who believe in the trinity.

  • It is also a solution to the equation x^2-x-1=0. The other solution is its inverse.

  • @drrobertoboogie97 Can you please explain it too me. English isn't my native language @.@ and I need to write a essay about this @.@??

  • @drrobertoboogie97

That would imply that PHI Squared - PHI is equal to one, meaning that PHI squared is equal to 2.618, which it isn't. The quadratic you gave actually hasn't got any real solutions.

  • @WSWarthog Phi is equal to 1? The solutions to the quadratic equation x²-x-1=0 can be found using the discriminant method: x=(-b±√(b²-4ac))/2a=(-(-1)±√((-1)²-4*1*(-1)))/(2*1)=(1±√5)/2, Φ=(1+√5)/2≈1.618… and ϕ=1/Φ=(1-√5)/2≈-0.618...

  • @drrobertoboogie97

    My mistake, you're correct.

  • @drrobertoboogie97

Your proof make sense but I graphed it on a calculator and indeed the graph never cuts the x-axis. Can you explain why that is?

  • @WSWarthog Perhaps it's because you accidentally typed x²+x+1. That has no real roots. I graphed x²-x-1 in Grapher, it cuts the x axis in x=1.618… and x=0.618…, the golden ratio and its inverse, respectively.

  • @drrobertoboogie97

    Must be.

  • Why does the golden ratio music sound so eerie? Maybe it's because it's obviously evil. =[

  • thumbs up if you think the golden ratio music is annoying?!

  • The comment was that the ratio was a divine ratio. That infers a Higher Being or God.

  • @Andi132179 Quit assuming. Be a real man and test for god.

  • I like the music. the only God worth worshipping is God Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth and Jesus Christ his only begotten Son who is also God along with the Holy Spirit.

  • @Andi132179 I believe he was talking about the golden ratio... not god

  • @Andi132179 horseshit.

  • I like the music.

  • amazing to think that the egyptians used this!

  • hilarious. good vid. bkgd music a bit irritating.

  • Too much maths for my brain.

  • press 4 and he swears

  • did you make this for a class or something? very entertaining video none the less.

  • Thank you for making this video of the Golden Ratio - it's very clear.

  • golden ratio starts from a cube 142857

  • WHAT IS THE GOLDEN RATIO POINT ON OUR PLANET EARTH? IT MUST HAVE A CERTAIN POINT WHICH WHEN USING THE FORMULA SHOULD HIGHLIGHT A CERTAIN AREA WHICH IS THE GOLDEN MEAN OF THE PLANET!!!!

  • @Oz1x The Golden Mean point of Planet Earth is Mecca. To be more specific, The Ka'aba. It's been mathematically and scientifically proven. You should find it on YouTube.

  • @Oz1x The golden ratio of the earth is the Kabba its the tomb of prophet Mohamed (pbuh)

  • @TheCls63 which is it exactly? the kaaba, or the tomb? they are both in different places.

  • @Oz1x the the tomb is the kabba

  • @TheCls63 There is no God worthy of worship except Allah & Muhammad (peace be upon him) is his messenger. The golden ration of Earth is indeed the Kaaba in Saudi Arabia.

  • @Oz1x and who put it there? A bunch of paganists and probably hindus and then Mohammed had to kick them out for worshiping the wrong god and not listening to him when he said he had found a better salvation than the one they already had

  • @TastefullyMad From the research i myself have conducted i found that Abraham built the Kaaba with his son Ishmael a very very long time ago. Mohammed was the decendant of Abraham. Peace be upon them all.

  • @TastefullyMad But obviously i agree that after Abraham had passed away mankind became corrupt & starting worshipping idols etc until Muhammed came with Islam to teach people the right way.

  • Examine your dog more carefully.

  • 0+0 = 0

  • I heard the word "approximate" too much for "everything to be related and influnced by the Golden Ratio."

  • this music sounds a little creepy

  • could make a nice stew I suppose?

  • creepy music :|

  • dont get it...

  • did ur puppy died?

  • woo hoo golden ratio party guys

  • @lacerveza1977 YAAA!!! *takes a shot of tequila* WOHHHHH!!!!

  • lol "and totally rock out"

  • can i ask, if humans figer this out and believe it, but some figer out the the world is currupt, and no one believes that...... why? ....

  • @markwick11

Because one is based on an observable and repeatable mathematical formula, and the other is based on... someones opinion?

  • @Vire70 ahhhh yess. thanks man ^^

  • Actually, your dog IS a golden ratio!!!!

  • Google search '' THE GOLDEN RATIO '' and Angelina Jolie picture will come up.

  • I love my 16:10 monitor.

  • 2 * sin(18 degrees) = 0.618033989

  • I am working on a new architecture design. When the golden ratio started popping up all over my calculations and measurements. I got excited, I was like wow, this ratio is like PI, weird yet really cool. Now I am big fan of the golden ratio. The golden ratio needs to taught in schools more like PI. For instance Decagons: the ratio of the radius of an equilateral decagon and its segment length are the golden ration ... Someday I would love to explore/teach about this magical ratio.

  • I saw in another video that the Golden Mean applied to the opening to Beethoven's 5th Symphony. I just figured out how it is related and its so cool!

  • please tell me how is this background music related to golden mean, i am doing b-arch thesis and golden mean is a part of it, and i need to get information, thankyou

  • @zainab01zainab

The frequency of the first note and the frequency of the second note are a golden ratio. For example if the first note is 1,000 mhz the second note is 1,618 mhz, the third is 2.617, the forth is 1,618 and so on and so on.

  • please tell me how is this background music related to golden mean, i am doing b-arch thesis and golden mean is a part of it, and i need to get information, thankyou

  • I agree that every thing has a golden ratio and science proves it. then what about Makkah? the holy city of Muslims. All praise to GOD, who made signs for the people of understanding.

  • lolll

  • I used in my paintings since long ago. I also used it to create the measurements as my goal for physical appearance. haha.

  • Wait? WTF is a golden ratio? lol!

  • creepy song yeah!

  • What about a golden shower?

  • i feel smart now :)

  • what is the golden ration??? i need some one to help me.

  • This video saved me. I have a short presentation to do on the golden ratio, and I was trying to find examples of it's use in modern design, be it film, media, architecture etc. So when you mentioned how the iPod uses the golden ratio, I read up on it, and saw that it indeed does. I go everywhere with my iPod, so when I go into college tomorrow, I'm going to slide mine onto the the table in my presentation. =)

  • is there any better golden ratio music? ... men, have we stumbled upon a new genre of music.. OHHH SHIEEEEEET

  • Dont put your dog in the trash bin :D

  • @IspanasOnTop it was recycle!! lol

  • Music is creepy. :[

  • Im in grade nine and need help understanding

  • is it possible that his ratio shows up because we are living in a simulation?

  • boring but the puppys cute.

  • The pictures of the suggested videos ---->

    Golden ratios

  • the music is creepy...

  • wtf is a golden ratio?

  • @sammmfrg ur 5 yrs old and a BRAT!!!

  • Great video, lot's of useful examples. Poor puppy! (very cute)

  • The golden ratio sounds creepy as hell.

  • yeah you should probably recycle that dog

  • Where can I find that song seperate from the rest of the video?

  • starcage org for the music

  • The music... uhh... o.O

  • that music is freakin' me out

  • What's the big deal about a fancy rectangle?

  • Excellent, and you're dog's cute too! LMAO

  • I'm lovin it! its great and really funny xD

  • A\B should give 1.618 right? So if i draw a rectangle with Side A = 16.18 and Side B = 32.36 ,its not a golden ratio...Right \wrong can somebody correct me please?

  • @halfmumi

    Dude...your math is terrible...16.18 / 32.36 = .5

    Here's the correct measurements.

    A = 16.18

    B = 10.00

    A / B = 16.18 / 10.00 = 1.618

  • @lerkerofthenight that was my question.couldnt understaned the stuff, and yes it is terrible =)) thanx a lot for the answer mate :)

  • can I get the earth's golden ratio in relation to a city with south and north pole? Where is that city? Please tell me if you have any info! Thanks for the upload!!!

  • @aibn16 that city is mecca, in Africa

  • @thedruglord , How came Mecca in Africa....it is in Arabian Pennensulla....any how, thanks!!!

  • Excellent, excellent, great job!

  • i heard it playing and was waiting for the fucking screams and the girl running into ma screen!!!

  • poor doggy, its no brad pitt

  • pythagoras

  • If that background music is a golden ratio than I want nothing to do with it.

  • @Rycon973 dude it's just math, nothing to be afraid of

  • That is a scary f-ing song!

  • it would help if the song would stfu

  • what the hell, i dont understand, can some1 please explain to me plz?

  • It's so scary that our whole world is based on one proportion...

  • Well not really because we build everything to look nice so every measurement has to make sense. If you look at many common objects made by humans, you can a mathematical relation to the sides. Its order

  • @laxgolie4ever yes, but this proportion is also found in almost every aspect of nature...including th solar system.

  • But i still get some of it and its intresting

  • Its hard and i have to do homework about the Golden Ratio

  • lmao me too

  • hard to understand!!

  • @jellyworld135

Its easier than it seems, look it up in wikipedia.

  • real, real Intresting. form smt

  • I still don't understand this..

  • Try that again - about the finger "bone" and hand "bone" myth.

Stick with da Vinci's Vitruvian Man and body proportions.

The carpals, metacarpals and phalangeal bones in the hand do NOT have a golden ratio, or any proportion like it. Maybe the 3 bones in the phalanges (finger) only. And some say the length of a person's hand to the length of the forearm (elbow to wrist).

  • MIND = BLOWN

  • Where can I get the backround music? I'm doing a powerpoint presentation on the Golden Ratio (it's absolutely fascinating!) and it would blow my teacher away if I included the music and that little factoid! Thank you!

  • @yourworstnightmare51

just search for Akio Hizumo. I don't remember exactly where I found it.

  • @yourworstnightmare51:

Did it work? Did you blow your teacher away?

  • @Mathemarius

Yes, yes it did! :D Got an A!

  • @yourworstnightmare51 listentoyoutube com/index.php

  • @yourworstnightmare51 listentoyoutube com

  • let's just say i feel like Galileo when he was trying to proof the world wrong.people were to busy listening to what main stream media told them instead of discovering things for themselves.

  • there is something great

  • The golden ratio is a measuring tool.I don't see why people have applied it to a face structure! - A beautiful face is not about the golden ratio it's about position. However you can use the golden ratio to perfect it just like they perfected Greek architecture. --That model of the face is wrong!

  • That was funny. You should take many measurements of your dog. I'm sure you would be able to find some golden ratios - after all it's so cute, and we are programmed to find the golden ratio appealing...

  • haha this was interseting, the backround music was bit distracting though.

  • The Golden ratio does not apply on the human face.Just like it did not apply on the dog.. I know some people say and believe it apply s also to a perfect face but it does not.--I have discovered a different structure model that applys on the human face.

  • Did Davinci not showcase in a few of his model-studies the golden ratio in relation to the configuration of the human face? and not just on the "idealized face structure" but on faces displaying features that were considered unattractive by the majority of his time -and yet the ratio was still found. Is that what your trying to say?

and the Golden ratio IS found on the dog.. try measuring from the snout to the neck and from the neck to it's rear. whats the ratio?

  • Wow.. How the fuck do you know this! Its a great video though! Your like bill nye the science guy.. Informative and entertaining =D

  • hahahaha poor dog at the end.... it's not a golden ratio xD!!!!!!

  • thats a bit creepy!

  • Great. I plan to use this in my math class. Thank you.

  • So's your mum!

  • I thought the ratio was 1 : 1.618, and you are showing in your video 1 : .618 ?

    Misleading? Yes.

  • 1 : 1.618 is the same ratio as 1 : .618

Research before leaving a snide comment? No.

  • Please explain how that makes sense... Cause it doesn't.

    How could 1 : 1.618 be the same as 1 : 0.618?

  • rick... didn't state it quite correctly. 1 : 1.618 is the same ratio as 0.618 : 1.

  • That makes more sense :P

  • my bad nerd assholes

  • haha math n00b

  • great job on this video!! loved it

  • This was a great video. I laughed, I cried.. Well done :-)

  • good video :-) I laughed in the end .. about the dog lol. However, very good instructional video. You guys will most likely find this video very interesting: watch?v=03mhcE2hRso . It's also about the golden ratio but in sound, and the guy has made some sound that has some amazing effects to people.

  • Thx for sharing..

...it's a pretty stupid thing but oh well....

  • I enjoyed your narration and the subject you presented. I'm a avid collector of information leading to the Golden proportion and related.Applied to the Arts,Music,Architecture and Science...everywhere :-D

  • widescreen monitors have gold ratio

  • Not quite, 16/9 = 1.777777777(repeating)
