This is interesting to watch because a older friend of mine told me how he used to shower with two liters of water. Pretty much the same way, he'd use one liter to wet himself for the lather, then he'd use the other liter to rinse. Invention is the mother of necessity however. And now that he has a shower he definenlty appreciates it. However this type of showering wll once again become the mother of necessity. Great to see someone who is ahead of the inevitable curve.
well, HELL, dude: you're bald headed and skinny! I'm a fat, old lady with lots of hair to shampoo and condition! LOL. I just solar heat a cat litter jug, apx.2 gallons, pour it into a soup pot and use a pitcher to pour. but it looks like a good hand washer, if suspended over a sink and tipped to use
I bought 10 solar vacuum tubes they can boil 24 oz of water in 2 hours or you can use a collector and the time is well under an hour. The cost for the tubes was $100. delivered. I need to build a practical way to use them but they are incredible I left one in the sun for an hour and the temp was 180 degrees F that is pasturized water right there? LMK if you want the supplier I think I have the link I still have my e reciept. Great idea for a shower screw a tiny solar shower head on that BAM !
perhaps cap off the factory hole...then drill say... 8 holes with the smallest drill you can get? i think it would last longer with the tiny holes...just an idea.
@jiminbaguio A 3/16 inch hole seems about right. I didn't try painting black but I do have some shiny bubble rap insulation that I tape on the back side when sitting in the sun. It reflects the sun back through the water twice.
Pretty nifty! For those of us with lots of hair, I imagine you'd need another bottle or two. But still, much less than a conventional shower and it doesn't get all over the place- like trying to wash my hair in the kitchen sink. Thanks! Jaimie Hall Bruzenak
I made one of these with a water bottle that has a handle. I used a piece of aquarium tubing instead of a straw and fed the tube through the handle. Used hot glue at the top where the tubing meets the bottle.

Great. I'll try it. But before taking a shower, wouldn't it be a good idea to take your wrist watch off first?

Dave,
This is awesome!
Did you invent this?
I made one of these with a water bottle that has a handle. I used a piece of aquarium tubing instead of a straw and fed the tube through the handle. Used hot glue at the top where the tubing meets the bottle.
Works great!
Thanks for posting this.
