In February of 2008 I was on life support and almost died until my amazing pulmonary specialist who was called in when other doctors were stumped gave me high doses of prednisone and saved my life. Even though this is a rare disorder I am so grateful that doctors are learning about this. Hard to diagnose....easy to treat. Linda in Spokane, Washington

I have this condition ... and it's not very common at all .. I have been on prednisone for 4 years and the side effects are hideous but without it I could die ... I have to take vitamin d because of bone loss and my skin is so thin its terrible ..
