Eurythmics - Wrap it up

Whilst most people associate Eurythmics with Lennox, I personally associate it more to Dave. Being a synth player myself, I believe his synthwork was somewhat revolutionary and that he is one of the most underrated synth players in history. This tends to happen in duo bands. The singer gets the entire spotlight. To a lesser extent, this also happened to Dave Ball, the keyboardist from Soft Cell.

I love the polemic of comments here: Lennox fans love it, Hayes fans hate it. I see a band covering a song they like to try and establish their identity. This was 82, their prior release was bit of neo-psychedelic new wave, and they then turned to experimental electronic music in their home studio. Put that together and by 83 the sweet dreams of success would come true.

Actually not. Although it has that potential of a hit single. :) It's a cover of an Isaac Hayes and David Porter song (not that I've heard the original though :)), here Eurythmics also feature some backing vocal support from Scritti Politti's Green Gartside.
