is it a must to take out the motor to get to the gearbox to fix not shifting problem?

@FOXRACINGINC2010 I thought this to, but it is the other way. Anti clockwise(loose) is earlier, clockwise (tighten) later.

no offence people,bu these cheap buggys are shite and break down to easy. just read everyones comments and all you see is people moaning about these shite cars?? save your money and buy a schumacher,hotbodies,hong nor ,hyper or something of a good built and quality. check my videos out and see a proper nitro car

What do you expect for a $200 car??? SHit happens.. Buy the upgrade kit and you will have no problems.. I've had mine for 5 months without a drama..

on ebay now u can get an upgrade gear box $85 austrralian there metal but there only available on single gear

@rockguitarZTOFFE the clutch sticks and jams, your probally stuck in second gear. under the car there is a little cover held by two screws, undo those and you should see the clutch, if you see a little arm thing extented from the clutch , knock it back in with a scew driver. but it will just happen again

you know those drive cups at each end ofthe gearbox housing,

well because mine are both stripped i cant get it off my gearbox.

where can i get a new one, and how am i going to get it off my gearbox shaft thingy, or will i have to get a whole new gearbox, although if you just get the whole new gearbox it doesnt come with those drive cups, so i need to get them seperately from somewhere else, does anyone know where please?

i trying to do the same and take the gears off but the allen key hole is so tight that it keeps stripping my allen keys.

how am i going to undo it to get in to the gearbox and clutch someone please?

HEAT is your friend. The grub screw most likely has lock tight on it so use a pencil torch on the grub screw for about 20-30 seconds and then it should come out very easily.

thank you, also where is the cheapest place to buy an atmomic warhead please, i have a gladiator truggy which is basically the same but they're not as good as buggies to be honest.

also i changed the gearbox clutch thingy(centril fugal system) and put the new one on put it back together and there is a lot of friction in the gearbox and i don't know what it could be. it's not the brakes i checked if i did anything too tight which i havn't, the housing is ok.

the cheapest place is ebay. and as for the gear box. do a search in google for plaig rc hobbies. sign up to the forum section and in there there is a section called tech articles. there you will find a step by step assembly of the gear box. Maybe you have the cups pushed up too hard against the gearbox? there should be a 1mm gap. you could also try undoing the screws at the top of the gearbox a quarter turn. In your gear box is there anything in between first and 2 gear like washers or anything?

My mixture screw was screwed in to just below the lip of it's casing. The car should still blow a little bit of smoke when revving. Do a google search for nitro tuning. Good luck.

Hi i have teh same buggy but here in ireland it's caled the wind hobbie sidewinder, which is why it's taken me so long to find any information about it. i was wondering if you could please tell me what your carb is set at as your car seems much faster than mine and i have been having alot of trouble tuning it anyway. the car is that exace same and the eingine is too. please please reply. just one more q i am trying to change my gear box so 2nd gear switches later it is stuffing up a bit? i was watching dis but i turn my grub screw and it does not seem to make a difference? and i am not hearing a shift change it could be starting in 2nd do u have any ideas?

Mine stopped shifting after a while, just took off in second. The spring in the centrifugal clutch mechanism had jammed, and second was engaging in any RPM. Take the grub screw right out (the spring will shoot off), clean the system well, tighten the grub until it stops to seat the spring properly, then loosen it to wherever it was before. Verify that the clutch will spring back closed when forced open.

hey ive got a warhead and the smaller gear in the gear box moves freely,and it only has one grub screw

Does the gearbox need to be out of the car so it can be adjusted to change into 2nd at lower RPM's? or can i adjust it while fitted onto the car?

You can adjust the grub screw through the hole in the chasis beneath the gearbox without having to take it out.

No I cant. I was never aware of this one changing gear either. Maybe unscrew the grub screw a bit to make it change earlier.
