They teargassed so much downtown, it effected the city residents. opps. that day they had speakers on the roofs, blaring out police orders that no one including police could hear.

I was in EL for 3 of the riots. For the most part, the "violence" and "destruction" didn't begin until the police shot tear gas, etc. So a few students are drinking under age...illegal? Yes. Worth the riot? No.
