I heard this song yesterday for the first time yesterday , It really makes me think of this girl I really care for . Great song Dan we forever miss you !
Dan is very much missedm his music speaks to us all.
Let's get something correct here, Millions die of cancer each year that NEVER smoked. My ex is battling breast cancer, she never smoked, hated it. I not a supporter of smoking in the least, but lets be truthful here.. It's not the only thing humans do that can kill us
Thinking and missing Dan on this day. Looked at my framed copy of his birthday announcement this a.m. and could only smile and give thanks for the legacy of music he left us.
Wot? No-one been here for over six months?? Shame on you fans !! We all say how versatile a singer/songwriter/composer/artist Dan was. This is a prime example of his extraordinary talent. Dan at his "gutsiest" best! What soul and emotion. I defy anybody not to comment on Dan's passion here. I will keep coming back Over & Over again to check on you.......!!
Keep coming back to this over and over again. A beautiful performance. Such a strong voice - and don't you just love that knowing smile when you know he's nailed it! Miss you Dan..
He's the best I've ever heard in my life. I was born in 1952 and had an ear for classical, rock & pop. But, I never paid attention to the artist, only the music. What a shame. Dan, in my option, was the best storyteller & songwriter I've ever heard of. He totally mesmorizes me. He's all I'll ever listen to other than classical music. Dayle

If only he had never smoked maybe he would still be here today. Please people dont smoke. I am convinced that smoking causes so many types of cancer not just lung cancer. Every person in my life that has died of cancer in one form or another was a smoked at one time in their lives.
I saw him solo 3 times, one of those times was at Bowling Green University in Ohio, He was in the center of the crowd on a platform and the audience was going wild with excitement. Suddenly, he broke a guitar string..........He sat there stunned and said that this had never happened before. Someone handed him an acoustic guitar and he just jammed away on it with the crowd going absolutely nuts! He was one in a trillion in his talent and ability to captivate an audience.
I remember being surprised the first time I heard Dan sing this way. I was literally transfixed wishing the song would never end. People who know him only for his ballads will be surprised at the depth and power of his voice. Thanks for posting this!

Glad to see others who appreciate Dan's soulful voice here. The man could sing! I've always felt his voice got better as he aged.

His voice became much lower in range, after having his tonsils removed in 1980, and he also stopped smoking.

I saw him do this solo acoustic. What a memorable performance. Crowd did not want to stop applause. went on for 2 or 3 minutes.
