Central was fantastic and I really miss it. David Cameron's (yes the politician) Carlton destroyed everything good about Central and ATV.

Thatcher killed off ITV. I grew up with ATV but I also have big respect for Central Independent Televsion.

We, in Lincolnshire had to suffer Yorkshire TV, and their continuity was non-existent, ~They couldn't even be arsed to have an in-vision continuity announcer and an animated station ident. Central ~TV News output was far more colour ful to us in Lincolnshire, who are largely ignored by YORKSHIRE TV.
