spousal abuse has never been a black and white issue, its been around for ever, it seems like it just gets worse and not better. There needs to be more programs and help for anyone that is being abuse. Also major help for the abuser, if they don't get help it will just go on and on. I think the thing that is the worst is you can never really get away from the abuser unless there dead. Scary thought but true.

The police would HAVE to send someone to the house if she thought her abusive husband who she has a restraining order against had come to her house. The police would also have to arrest him for suspicion of arson after it became clear that 1. the fire was not an accident, and 2. he had been making threats against her.

@GEhotpants101 You would EXPECT that would be the case, but not always! I had a restraining no/contact order against my husband and he still kept coming around to pop the tires to my vehicles, throw glass beer bottles into my house windows etc. But because I couldn't PROVE he was the one who did it and they didn't catch him in the act..they didn't arrest him. I went and bought some security video monitors at Radio Shack and that immediately caught his ass and then he went to jail!

I can't express as much as I would like because of privacy and spacing reasons, but this stuff happens to very intelligent, beautiful women, everyday, very slowly! They don't know what hit 'em. A highly-esteemed woman can become a "shell of herself," within a few months, after abuse starts to happen. It's a very strange ordeal, almost inexplicable ... *SIGH*

I rememebr when me & my mum had to go to a safe house, It was daunting. no matter where we went he would find us, but that was the one place we could go & I'd feel safe, I woke in the night sceaming & crying.

Finally after all the years past she found a good man & I'm happy for her. She is finally safe. Not all are so fortunate some end up dead, kids to.

PEOPLE - Get out of it, before its to late! not only for your own, but for the kids sake. It is the hardest thing to do, there is help!
