  • Of course God is a spirit. He's a spirit in the same way I am a spirit. The human body is composed of a physical body that cannot move without the aid of the spirit body.

  • Another great segment. Thank you for putting these videos on YouTube. Hopefully many LDS will be lead to the Biblical Jesus Christ, through these videos.

  • My dear woman, not only did you get so many things wrong, but the verse you quoted from Alma was the teachings of an apostate group. Please read the chapter before you just pluck verses and use them to your liking.

  • Oh, You mean like Joseph Smith did with the Bible?

  • If you want to argue about that, you will have to give me an example.

  • 1 Corthinans 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

  • One thing you need to understand about 1 Corinthians is that it's a letter of correction for the Church of Corinth from Paul. They were having problems understanding and following the gospel.

Paul wasn't telling the church in Corinth to baptize the dead, he is illustrating his argument that the resurrection is a reality. They didn't even believe in the resurrection.

  • I totally agree that Paul was not telling them to baptize for the dead. They did not believe in the resurrection, so he said "Why do we baptize for the dead if the dead aren't even resurrected?" It would be in vain to do baptisms for dead people if they are not resurrected. It seems though you misunderstood.

  • If baptisms for the dead is so important why didn't Jesus make mention of it to his disciples?

  • I'll bet He did. After all these years and translations some things have been lost. Also, if people would read other gospels than the Bible, they would see more. Who are these "officials" to decide what is scripture and what is to be put in the Bible?

Paul illustrated that baptisms for the dead were definitely being done.

  • "Paul illustrated that baptisms for the dead were definitely being done."

Oh, I agree. But did he say that this is something that must be done? Remember 1 Corinthians is a letter to tell the Church telling them what they are doing wrong. These people were still hanging onto their pagan ideals.

  • He never said they shouldn't be done.

  • Does it say anywhere in the Bible that it should be done? The LDS church likes to use 1 Cor 15:29 for baptizing the dead, but do you have another scripture found in the Bible to back it up?

  • Not in the Bible, but the LDS church uses other scripture and living prophets to learn and clarify doctrine.

  • Even Lucifer can quote scripture & he sure uses

people to bring forth his lies

  • i have a hard time taking your scripture as being true scripture. dont get me wrong, i belive the bible to be true, but i question your translatin in yhat the more you translate the bible the more you watter it down. putting that aside your quote from deuteronomlited has highted the phrase " shall speak in the name of other gods", then you point out that js tought about other gods. speaking in the name of and teaching about are not the same thing....

  • Your logic on the temples of the Latter-day Saints, if applied to New Testament Prophecy would condemn the very words of Christ.

  • Far West Temple is still slated to be built, and it will be built, as will the TEMPLES in Missouri (there will be LOTS of Temples built in The City of Zion in Missouri)

  • Is that generation, the one with the coming of the Son of Man in Glory, passed away? Has Christ's prophecy been fulfilled?

Christ's reference to generation is flexible, is yours?

  • D&C 84 was given at Kirtland. When it says "Beginning at this place" it is referring to the place where the prophecy is being given, namely Kirtland. So the prophecy stands complete.

The irony is the prophecy given by Jesus in Luke 21:32. If one reads that chapter they will see that the generation that Christ says "This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." includes such events as "the Son of Man coming in glory"

  • HAHAHAHA!!!! That is the funniest thing! They reference the Book of Alma 31--if she'd bothered to read the chapter she was pulling from she would see that it's part of describing a narrative of an apostate group in the BoM. A man pulled this out on some missionaries and they had him keep reading the chapter, when the man realized what a fool he'd made of himself he got a bit upset.

There are few other verses that they could site in such a way that would show such blatant disregard for context.

  • A key error in this is the failing to realize that the essence of each person, and of Christ, and of the Father, are all co-eternal.

For Christ to genuinely be the Son of God would demand that his Father was what HE would become. Why would Christ take upon him flesh A SECOND TIME if the resurrection, the renewal of FLESH was not an attribute shared with his Father. When a Son can't become like His Father then what is the meaning of the words and the relationships they reference?

  • Being an Exalted Man does not mean God is not Eternal. Christ is an Exalted Man, the fact that he is such does not preclude his status as Eternal.

  • you shouldn't be so quick to discard Smith as a prophet. you just eliminated Isaiah, John the Revelator and Christ himself - didn't the angels prophesy that he should return in like manner in glory - i havnt seen anything and its been almost 2000 years. seems your argument doesnt work nor does your convoluted reasoning and logic.

  • Smith is definitely a false prophet. He should have cursed the Satanic angel that deceived him.
