Have you ever noted that people use credit cards on food, specifically at Taco Bell? Who in the right mind would pay interest on food. Not me. I often buy tiny items with a credit card. I'm talking under one dollar at supermarkets. But I never pay any interest because I pay the card in full the following month. Instead, I get to keep my money earning interest in the bank for over a month before I take it out to pay. It's not much, but it makes me more money than if I paid cash at the till.
